Knight’s Retreat - Paihia Holiday Home

Relax on the deck, with this elevated setting enjoying the surrounding bush and bird life. After a stroll to the wharf, beaches, and shops just 300 metres away, return home to fire up the BBQ.

Split over two levels, you'll find two generous bedrooms on the top floor. The master boasts a double-size and expands onto private decking, while the second provides a double.

Downstairs is comprised of a spacious rumpus which provides a double and single bed, couches, chairs and a kitchenette. A bathroom on each floor completes this convenient set-up.

Amenities include Wi-Fi and TV, a retro-style kitchen with an oven and microwave, a washing machine, plus oil and electric heating for comfort year-round.

You'll appreciate off-street parking at the front of the home, while boat parking is available - up to five metres.

With its convenient location so close to Paihia township itself, this is an excellent base to explore all that the wider Bay of Islands has to offer, any time of the year.

A comfortable but musty house in Paihia

The position in Paihia was perfect but when we arrived it was impossible to find the key and we had to ask the property manager to find it, we were told key was outside the front door but actually one had to scramble way round the back on a steep section to find it. there was one key for three adults and the lock on the door it was used in was loose and needed fixing. looking at the photo of the house it looked as if we would be able to drive in to the garage and the job of getting luggage in would be easy but no we had to move all luggage in from the road and we are three women in their mid 80's. luckily the property manager was still there from letting us in and she carried our cases up the steep drive and stairs. There was no mention that the garage was not available and i doubt that i would have booked if i had known. the house was comfortable but very very musty. Downstairs was almost impossible to sleep in and cupboards and drawers in the kitchen were very musty as well - the pantry reeked of mildew,. Some of the drawers had very old stuff to use particularly the cutlery. there were no instructions in the house and we had to get the property manager back to get the tv going and wing it with everything else. the barbecue area was old and grubby and i think almost unusable however the house has great potential but it does need a considerable amount of tlc to bring it up to scratch.
