Hyde Park

Posted 16-Aug-2017
Pros: Walking distance to so many sights , yet tucked just of the main street.
Cons: Room could of been a little nicer(updated).
Great location for Hyde Park! Walking to tube, Notting Hill Market, Kensington Gardens.

Are stay was ok until one of our passports was stolen from the room . The hotel management was less than helpful! We were forced to stay an extra 3 days as it happened on a Friday and the embassy was closed until Monday. They also charged us a higher rate for the rooms. The passport was taken from the room so I think they had some responsibility and could have given a better rate and they made sure we knew the higher rate did not include breakfast! That was the last straw.Do too this unfortunate incident I would be hard pressed to recommend this hotel. 4people two rooms.

Our basement rooms were terrible

Posted 28-Jul-2017
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for fear that they too would be stuck in the basement. We had 2 rooms - both in the basement. They are dark and the windows can't be opened more than a few inches because they would be accessible from outside. The glass of the windows is not clear so you can't see outside and there are metal grates on them - I'm sure for safety but makes for a dark and depressing room. Our kids were in a room that must actually be a conference room (obviously by the projector screen they pulled down from the ceiling!) that had 3 beds in it. It had 2 emergency escape doors in it as well...not a comforting feeling when you're sleeping. When asked if we could change room we were not given any other options because the hotel was fully booked. The staff was nice enough but I don't think it is fair to pay what we paid and be stuck in the basement and in a makeshift bedroom. Hotel was clean and in a good location but we would not stay there again.

OK hotel, public rooms good, b'rm sml/dismal

Posted 28-Jul-2017
Pros: The general appearance, looks attractive externally, the public rooms, although we only had bar food and breakfast, what we had was good.
Cons: Bedrooms (only saw the one we occupied). Requires up grade as do the corridors as tended to be dark and dingy. Maybe our room was a poor example.
Location: Pleasant location very close to Hyde Park, long walk to central London but busses/tube close by.
Room ready on arrival (2 hours early). Public rooms all appealing and well maintained, staff pleasant and friendly. Bedroom very small, dark, dingy and poorly ventilated. Bed uncomfortable. Hotel pleasantly located near Hyde Park but involved 2 bus journeys from Euston Station. Have stayed in the hotel before must have been a better room, would not return without assurance of better room.

Small rooms

Posted 28-Jul-2017
Pros: Slightly cheaper than many others.
Cons: Room sizes for single rooms.
Location: Bit out of the way, but several tube stations within walking distance.
Had a single room, which was very small. The bathroom was tiny and claustrophobic. The room was also 1 floor down from the ground floor, with opaque windows, so got little light. Breakfast was ok, but expensive.

CLOSE TO TUBE AND BUS STOPS. SMALL BUT LIVEABLE. GOOD PLACE TO JUST SLEEP AND LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS. WALLS ARE A BIT THIN BUT IT DIDN'T DISTURB MY SLEEP. FRONT DESK STAFF 24/7.

Great hotel in convenient quiet location. Great home base for exploring London. I enjoyed relaxing at the hotel lobby.
