Nice 2 night stay at the Sea Breeze. Did notice that despite there being a microwave in the room there were no dishes or cutlery.
Quiet area, didn't seem to be any eating places particularly close by but there was a bus stop right outside and taxis were available.
We stayed for two days on the second floor and were very happy, that we found this hotel. The ambiance, cleanness, quiet, new decor, a good sized room, and a terrific neighborhood made this trip unforgettable. Will definitely return.
I left my I-pod and I -pad in the room and I realized it after we checked out. The maid has returned my gadgets to Lisa at the front desk and she was waiting for us to pick them up in a few hours. Nice people are working there.
The Sea Breeze is excellent. There is a fully equipped kitchen should you be so inclined to cook your meals. The room is elegantly decorated. Mattress is heavenly. Great location between 16 mile and the beach.
It wasn't clear to me from the Expedia listing, but this is a motel not a hotel. But it is a very nice one. Rooms are either on the ground or first floor - the higher ones have tall ceilings and I'm guessing the lower ones are cramped. We stayed in a higher one and it was decorated in a good contemporary style with lots of space.
The listing suggested to me there were basic kitchen facilities (probably my mistake). In fact it is literally just a microwave, fridge and coffee machine. No coffee filters, kettle. mugs, bowls or spoons. Quite what you are supposed to microwave was unclear, but it was not possible to even make a cup of tea.
The reception staff and cleaning staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.
Parking is directly outside the room.
Our balcony overlooked the cemetery, where deer hang out. One day we saw two stags fighting, a few feet from our house. Also, hummingbirds in the trees. This is a great place for nature, and the coast - where there was a blue whale - is a four minute walk away.
Although our room was well maintained, the pool area is a bit sad and decrepit. The hot tub was a murky green colour with floating leaves etc, the pool was very small. We didn't use these facilities but they appeared out of keeping with the nice rooms.
Breakfast was very basic, cheap and not great quality. Weak coffee, dry pancakes, little pucks of cooked egg, some bananas. Again, given the price and standard of the room it is surprising this was all they offer.
Surprised that there is no elevator and had to carry bags upstairs. The area is beautiful and we Saw several deer and different types of birds. The free breakfast bar was a nice touch, but the walls are thin and we could hear when the neighbors took their morning shower.
Pleased to see the spaciousness of the room. Lots of extra area. Utilized the window seat for conversation. Easy to envision living in such a place as seniors. Appreciated the outdoor chairs on the porch, outdoor seating area near office with evening fire pit.
One of my favorite places to unwind is Asilomar Conference Grounds. What is lovely about the grounds is you are able to experience the rare beauty of the Pacific Grove dunes. Listen to the calming waves of the ocean only a short distance away.
Pacific Grove, known to locals as “P.G.,” marks the northern end of the 17-mile drive along Pebble Beach’s famed golf courses. Point Pinos lighthouse, the oldest under continuous use on the West Coast, stands 85 feet above the Pacific. Monarch butterflies rest their orange and black wings at nearby Monarch Grove Sanctuary. Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History displays native plants and animals.
