I booked this hotel with only about a week's notice and actually got the last room available through Expedia. Upon check-in, we were given a room with a kitchen and gas fireplace. Turned out it was only one month old and absolutely fabulous! In addition to the 2 queen beds, there was a kitchen table, small fridge, small gas range and oven, microwave and complete set of pots, pans, dishes, glassware and flatware. The extra space and amenities was awesome -- my daughter and I baked cookies one evening and ate leftovers at the kitchen table. The hotel offers complimentary coffee, muffins, instant hot cereal and granola bars every morning. As there really isn't any space to sit down and eat in the lobby, we took our breakfast back to our room and ate in our "kitchen". There was a family with a baby in the room below us, but the insulation is so good, we never heard the baby cry until we stepped outside to walk to our car. This facility is located in a very quiet part of Pacific Grove, but within minutes from downtown shops and restaurants and 10 minutes to the aquarium. My suggestion for the management would be to try to clear away some of the plants in the front landscape to make room for a few outdoor tables and chairs which would afford guests the opportunity to eat their continental breakfast away from their room (especially if their room does not come with a full kitchen). I would highly recommend this inn and would definitely come back again!
I had planned to stay with my family in Pacific Grove on the way back home from San Francisco some events came up and my son had to stay back home. I had him fly up to meet us but he had to fly late. I called hotel and Amber told me to call Expedia. So I called and Expedia and Amber worked it out that I can arrive late after 12.00 midnight and stay longer.
I would really like to thank Amber for working everything out. I eventually got to hotel even later after my son's flight was delayed twice. I was able to get my key and into my room for the night. The staff at this hotel is great.
I've stayed at The Lighthouse Lodge a few times and have always enjoyed my stay there. I would recommend it to my friends and/or family. Located in a nice quiet neighborhood and very close to downtown Pacific Grove. Which is quaint and loverly
There can't be a more convenient location for attending the August Pebble Beach Concours and it is just a short walk across to Asilomar Beach. And the price is incredible compared how much all other hotels raise their rates on this weekend.
The hotel accommodated our somewhat unusual party of 3 adults and 2 kids in one of their rooms which reminded me a bit of a cabin at a state park. The hotel campus is quiet and laid out in numerous individual buildings around a central parking lot. Made me wonder if it was once formerly military housing. Clearly they've recently upgraded the rooms. They need to remove those huge spa bathtubs given that California is going through a drought.
Set against the rocky, dramatic Pacific Coastline and high above white sand beaches, Monterey Bay offers splendid landscapes …More
I was at the Laguna Seca racetrack with a racing team. We were having dinner together when an employee of the Sunset Inn called to check up on me. They wanted to be sure that if I was checking in after 9PM I knew how to find my room key. I got to the Inn at 8:45PM. The deck clerk was very nice. He even shook my hand. The room was very nice. I slept well. I checked out early and the desk clerk was concerned that I had a good stay. I mentioned that there was a little noise that occurred like the refrigerator reving up but that was the only thing. He was going to have someone get right on that. I'd stay there again.
Pacific Grove, known to locals as “P.G.,” marks the northern end of the 17-mile drive along Pebble Beach’s famed golf courses. Point Pinos lighthouse, the oldest under continuous use on the West Coast, stands 85 feet above the Pacific. Monarch butterflies rest their orange and black wings at nearby Monarch Grove Sanctuary. Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History displays native plants and animals.
