Wow is all I can say! Beautiful ocean views, very clean, pool is nice. Short walk to the the beach. But bring your walking shoes. Because it is very hilly. Also defiantly rent a car. If you are wanting to explore. Not a whole lot in walking distance.
From my experience of being here for 5 nights I felt the hotel staff was very cordial & accommodating. I say this because the room we were given had no atmosphere & no view. Within the 2nd night, the creepy crawlers appeared in the bathroom, icebox area, & bedroom. When I mentioned my disgust with the unsanitary conditions I was immediately moved to a far nicer room with a great view of the lagoon & sailing ships. So they were very accommodating in that respect.
The previous room should be fumigated & cleaned much better for future guests. This was a family 2 bedroom unit. Aside from that everything else was satisfactory.
The hotel bed was uncomfortable the mattress was rather old and lumpy. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, the pool was very nice. The hotel was ok with the exception of no water for about 2 hours due to some emergency we were told.

Stayed at the Westin Dawn Beach with our family of seven (children aged 6 to 15). Everyone was happy with the hotel, beach, and pool. The hotel is located off the beaten path, so having a rental car is a good thing (parking in the convenient parking garage is included). The beach is clean and on the Atlantic side, which means the waves are stronger, but manageable. We will certainly stay at this hotel again.
On the border between the French and Dutch sides of St. Maarten lies Oyster Pond. It does not have any beaches, but it does have a picturesque harbor and a well-known seafood restaurant, Captain Oliver’s.
