We stayed at the Westin for 17 days, it was our first time staying at the Westin. The area is very quiet and away from the busy side of the island so you will need a rental car. Daniels By the Sea, Big Fish are excellent restaurants that are right down the beach from the Westin. Casino is also very nice..
From the moment we arrived, my family and I were greeted with friendly faces. English was well spoken and understood. We even received s free room upgrade at arrival. We saw some pretty phenomenal views of the ocean from the room. It was helpful having a fridge and stove in the room. This helped save a lot of money. Very easy for 2 people to spend $50 per meal every day eating out. The housekeepers kept us supplied with towels and the room clean every day. We did have a minor sugar ant problem near the sink in both rooms, but not more than a few. There were some renovations being done, but that didn't bother us much. There is a fitness center, laundry facility, souvenir shop and 2 restaurants located on the resort itself, although several restaurants are within walking distance. The Infinity bar was great. Staff was fast and drinks were yummy. We never ate at the restaurant as we thought it was still being renovated until the last 2 days and had other plans. Happy Hour is from 4-6 at the bar and the 2 for 1 deal was great. Beau Beau's had good food choices and variety as well as entertainment some nights with karaoke, singing, dancing, etc. The prices were reasonable as well. Ofcourse there will be staff that offer free things, discounts, tickets if you sit through a time share presentation. We didn't. The pool was beautiful and had great views, but due to height, a little chilly with the wind. The beach had too much seaweed most days to enjoy. Small, quiet resort.

Occupying a nearly 6-acre peninsula between a bay called Oyster Pond and the Atlantic Ocean, this secluded Dutch-side resort …More
Everything was smooth from check in to check out. A very nice property that was convenient to the whole island by car in my opinion. Rooms were clean and the AC was cold, there were even complimentary drinks awaiting us. They could use a small oven in addition to the microwave and electric stovetop though. I would stay again
On the border between the French and Dutch sides of St. Maarten lies Oyster Pond. It does not have any beaches, but it does have a picturesque harbor and a well-known seafood restaurant, Captain Oliver’s.
