"Comfortable room, friendly staff, great location"
We had the Superior Queen room. The mattress was comfortable, and my bad back is picky about that. The room was a bit small by American standards but good for the location and ample for our one week stay. The heated bathroom floor was nice, and the towels and TP were good quality. The shower worked well, with plenty of hot water, but it could be snug for a large person used to a walk-in American shower. The electrical outlets above the table were plentiful and even included American style and USB outlets. Our iphones, laptop, etc. plugged right in. We used an adapter to also make use of the UK style outlets. The electric kettle was handy. Instant coffee and teas were provided, but you could bring your favorites from home.
The staff, from check-in to departure, were as friendly and professional as could be. They answered our questions, quickly arranged for extra towels when needed, and always greeted us with a smile and hello any time we saw them. We ate in the restaurant one night, and the food and service were high quality.
The location is excellent. If you take the train in from Heathrow to Paddington, expect about a 15 pd cab ride from Paddington to the hotel. The British Museum, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Leicester Square, and many theaters are a walk or quick bus/tube ride away.
Considering the price, staff, amenities, and location, I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend, and I will probably stay there again if I return to London
