Good quality hotel, but no ‘room with a view’
The hotel is quite new, and the rooms are in good condition. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. It’s on the edge of town, but only 5 minutes to get to the centre of town. Two negatives for me though. The hotel seems to be built in a sort of circle design, so many of the windows, including ours had a view of the other windows, with no ‘outside world’ view. The view below was a rooftop of what I presume was the ground floor restaurant area. As if this wasn’t bad enough, the bottom half of the window appeared to be ‘frosted’ which actually looked like condensation. The result was a claustrophobic feeling, as it felt like there was no outside view. As it’s a new hotel I would have expected a much better design. The city is so beautiful it would be hard to get a bad view of the outside. It really spoiled the room and would put me off staying in one of those rooms again. Secondly, and not so bad, was that the bathroom had a frosted glass door, and part of the bathroom wall too which faced the inside of the room. This didn’t afford enough privacy. I don’t know why hotels think this is a good idea. It looks nice, but isn’t a good design.
