"My daughter that we were visiting near there has a severe allergy to strong scents, and we were thrilled to find the room and the reception area scent free! Only smell we could smell was new wood, which doesnt bother her. The staff said they use environmentally conscious cleaning products. Also having windows to open in case there were scents was helpful. Staff were wonderful, breakfast was pretty good unless you have allergies, though they did have almond milk. Also homemade yogurt I wish I could have eaten! Thank you for a marvelous stay! 😉"

"Staff entered my room without permission and without knocking. Just because hotel staff have keys does not mean they can enter a guest’s room whenever they want. Guest privacy should be a top priority for any hotel, and this behavior was completely unacceptable. In addition, I am still trying to receive the $150 USD cash deposit that I paid at check-in. When I went to check out, no staff member was available. I was told that if I wanted my refund, I should leave the key inside the room and wait until 8:00 AM for the office to open. This makes no sense. Guests may need to check out early, especially if they have other travel plans or bookings during the night or early morning. Hotels should have staff available to process check-outs and return deposits when guests leave. We could not wait until 8:00 AM because we had another trip planned. It was very frustrating that no one was available to assist us or return the deposit at that time. Overall, the lack of respect for guest privacy and the poor handling of the deposit refund made this a very disappointing experience."

"We were there in late March to attend events in Lake Placid. It is comfortable, warm and welcoming and very well equipped. Very quiet neighborhood, and you can't beat the view and the sound of the flowing river. It snowed while we were there and the driveway was quickly plowed. If you look at the photos, you can see this, but the bedroom does not have a door that closes to make it completely private (it's more of a studio set up - one of the walls of the bedroom is a storage system that does not reach the ceiling). And, yes, be ready to climb the stairs, but the sunlit cabin and view is worth it!"

"We loved our stay at this hotel. It is in a perfect location for winter and sunmer adventures, and not far from Lake Placid shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the comfortable room and sauna after a long day on the mountain, and the stocked kitchen made it easy and efficient to fuel up in the mornings. We will definitely return here again when we plan our next Adirondack adventure!"
