Very rude first contact at front desk. The Manager was much better but the damage (and insulting) was done.
Requested early check-in (weeks before) and were denied even a place to put luggage. We were even told we could leave our luggage in our vehicle (duh). Our early check-in turned out being 3:30 for a normal 4pm check-in.
The hot tub and pool had something (God only knows) floating in it and I wasn't about to let my family swim in that DNA.
The room was a solid one star.

We are alarmed to read that your visit was so disappointing and your feedback is being reviewed with our staff immediately. Early check-in requests are certainly a high priority for us because we want our guests to enjoy the beach as quickly as possible. However, since we cannot predict the timeliness of the prior guests checking out, often since they procrastinate on leaving the OBX area, it becomes difficult to have our staff prepare the rooms for inbound guests quickly enough during full occupancy. Please accept our apology that there was a delay with checking in, but we do hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in the beautiful Outer Banks area.
