Started out well but ended horribly

Posted 02-Oct-2015
Pros: On site fishing.
Cons: Better refund policy.
Location: Outer Banks, nuff said.
I was in town for a Bluegrass festival and it got cancelled due to inclement weather. I stayed two nights out of four. I asked for a cancellation and was informed that was no problem at all but I had to call Expedia to get it cancelled. Expedia called them three times and the motel refused to refund the booking under any circumstances each time. Someone is lying to me.

one night

Pros: Nothing stands out to make it rememberable
Cons: the weather made my stay less than desireable but the only thing to help improve the place would be a soap dispenser in the shower or a bar of soap
Location: fully accessable to the area and resturants.
room was wet on carpet two to three feet in front of door. Mold smell. Bathroom had only on wall soap dispenser and none in the shower. No soap and no hair dryer. As to the water, I believe the door seal was bad or the window was left open because there was a large downpour before we checked in and probably caused the wet carpet. It was tough on my wife's allergies. I thought the lack of soap or shampoo was a little bad for a 3 star hotel. The bed was adequate but room was quite small.

Poor Check-in

Posted 22-Aug-2015 on Hotels
Everything was good, except for problems at check-in. We had reserved two rooms, one with 2 beds & 1 with 2 beds and a pullout sleeper. They gave us 2 rooms, each with only 2 beds. As a result, one of the guys in our group had to stay somewhere else.

Modest motel on a busy road.

Most rooms are buffered from road noise by A/C unit and configuration and have windows facing the water. We had no interaction with any staff. Rooms are attractively decorated and clean.

Hotel on the causeway to Nags Head

Posted 12-Aug-2015
Our stay here was good with some explanation. The facility is definitely dated. The main part of the room was fine, but the bathroom needs repair and/or updating. The finish in the bathtub is peeled and the other bathroom amenities were dated as well. The bed was very noisy just to lay on and tended to be worn. Now the positive, the location was great in that you aren't right on the beach, but you were very near by with plenty of areas for public parking and beach walk on access. The area is bountiful with places to eat and things to do. For us, we'd recommend Kelly's Restaraunt and Tavern, as well as the 11 O'Clock Restaraunt. Also take the time to see The Lost Colony play. We had an issue where our A/C stopped working and the young lady working there, promptly called the maintenance people and they had it working in a timely manner. They are not on site full time due to the small size of the facility, I presume. The A/C only needed to have the power plug reset in our case. The location of the facility is on the sound, and other than the expected fishy smell, it was very nice to sit out in the dock. The price was a high for the dated rooms, but with a small investment in the rooms this would be a very good value.

3 day Deep Sea Fishing place to stay

Great place if your looking for a place to stay while fishing. Rooms are newly renovated and super clean on the inside. Very close to pirates cove or obx marina and shopping centers.
