Disgusting hotel close to the beach

Posted 04-Nov-2015
Pros: The front desk staff
Cons: EVERYTHING except the front desk staff
Location: The location and local amenities are fantastic
The hotel is extremely run down and has a horrible odor. The smell was in the room and also in the hallways. The staff was very nice but everything else about the experience was bad and I would never recommend this hotel. This experience makes me question all Comfort Inns because if they will operate a hotel that is this bad then they have no standards and there are too many other options. If I ran Expedia I would not offer hotels that are this bad because it reflects poorly on you.

Older property over priced

Posted 20-Oct-2015
Pros: Oceanfront location
The property needs updating. The location is very convenient. Our room wasn't cleaned. We were only there for 2 nights. The only elevator was broken for a few hours.

Convenient location, pool is nice.

Posted 19-Oct-2015
Pros: Quiet room, location, access to the beach.
Cons: Taking 2 elevators to get to our room was a little cumbersome.
Location: Close to many good restaurants and shopping.
Overall a very pleasant place to stay. I would recommend cleaning the ocean front windows so the view would be more enjoyable. Breakfast was good and convenient.

No way

Posted 07-Oct-2015
Pros: Microwave, refrigerator, location, breakfast.
Cons: The whole place
This hotel is in a great location, has a restaurant, room service and other amenities but it's a dump. We had room 401 until it started raining and not even a hard rain. Water was poring in from the bay window area and the floor was soaked. They moved us into 203. It was great until it started raining and not even a hard rain. Water is leaking from the ceiling and has large water damage spots and peeling paint. When the front desk asked us how the second room was and we told them it was almost like they didn't really care at all. This hotel has so much potential if they would actually take some money out or their profits and put it into maintenance. I can't really recommend this place until they fix it up. For the money they charge this hotel should be in better condition.

Close to beach is only thing that saved this hotel

Posted 30-Sep-2015
Paid an outrageous price for a hotel room that was falling a part. First room was leaking water all the way from the balcony ceiling in the room. Second room was not leaking from the ceiling but none the less was rusty, dirty, and totally a disappointment. Front desk clerk really didn't want to help until pressured. Would NEVER stay here again! Don't waste your money!

One night only

Posted 15-Sep-2015
Pros: Beautiful lobby, on the beach, comfy bed, and coffee in the lobby all day.
Cons: The hall and room carpets could definitely be updated.
Location: Biking , and all beach related activities. We used the hotel as midway point between a wedding in Rodanthe and a reception in Duck.
Check in was fast, our room, #400, was clean, quiet and comfortable. We even enjoyed people watching the next morning as the balcony overlooked the pool, parking lot and street. Next time we might pay extra for an ocean view balcony. The breakfast was typical fare but nicely presented. We almost did not book this hotel as some of the reviews were not very good. True you have to take 2 elevators but space and codes are difficult on the OBX I am sure. I had no problem with the pool, breakfast area or reception area not being clean-just the opposite-I saw staff cleaning at all times of the day in these areas. Also,we stayed after Labor Day so I did not see any children, but the hotel was quite full. If you go to a beach hotel in the summer when the hotel is overflowing with children and demanding people, you get a different situation.
