This is a beautiful hotel with unique architecture. The staff are very hospitable and the rooms are well-maintained. Highly recommended.

e asked for a chalet and booked it in advance but when we checked in. They simply said we dont have any chalets open so we offer you a normal room ! Secondly they don’t understand things very clearly and last do bring your own bottle(s) of water bcz they dont provide any !

We stayed in a chalet, enjoyed our stay but be aware that this is not one of the round rooms (rondavels) pictures on both Expedia and the hotels website are misleading in this respect. Staff were very friendly.

Lovely spot and generous rooms
Lovely spot and generous rooms. Electricity tripped in the night but was reset within 5 mins of reporting. A bit far to walk into town but this meant it was a bit quieter and more spacious than other places.

Really a great place for a vacation
The stay was very pleasant, I cant really complain at all. One small hick up was my payment that was paid in full on my side, I asked the staff to follow up, as it showed I only paid a deposit. This was only resolved when I booked out, so was a bit stressful not knowing if the issue had been resolved or not. The shower was a pain in the butt, either boiling hot or cold, but no big issue. i would have loved to have used the braai facility, but it was strictly for the Kitchen use. Other than that, I highly recommend the resort, thumbs up all the way!

I booked and paid for a room with a King size bed. It was a double bed and room was very small. We stayed for 2 nights. After 1st night we told reception NOT to clean our room. When we got back in the afternoon there were staff in our room busy cleaning.

The beds were quite firm as we found with most hotels. It is somewhat out of the way in terms of being easy to find. Definitely need GPS to get there.

I was charged R175 per person for breakfest after we had it. The staff in dining room did not warn us breakfest was not included and we had to pay extra.

Close to the Cango Caves but would not stay again.
Stayed one night as we were visiting the Cango Caves the next day. A very disappointing stay for a Protea Hotel. l Room was very old and tired. Booked a room with king bed but got a room with two double beds. When I inquired, I was told to speak to manager who would be there the next morning. Didn't help our situation that night so didn't bother. Light outside was not working so was very dark and hard to get into room. Water in bathroom was brown, so used our own bottled water as none was provided. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which was just okay. Unfortunately would not stay here again.

Hotel responded effectively to my concerns.
I was disappointed when we checked in at the small size of the room and, particularly, that there was no fridge, as we had fresh items with us from our previous hotels, which all had fridges. I received a feedback form from Hotels.com and wrote on it that I would have liked a fridge. I didn't think anyone read these reviews but, when we returned from a day out, there was a fridge in our room and a very courteous letter from the management. I had also mentioned poor wifi from the night before and the letter said that they had tried to address this. It certainly was improved. Although it would have been good to have a fridge and working wifi from the outset, I was very impressed with the hotel's responsiveness to my concerns and would like to place my thanks on record.

You get what you pay for.
Good central area. The menu prices too expensive. Supper is about R250 a meal per person while breakfast R165 a head. Bathroom not very clean. Very limited internet connection if at all. It is not a 3 star hotel, would consider it more of a 2 star accommodation.

We paid R1000 per room for two. The board outside advertized that night at R799 PER ROOM. When I asked about this, they said it was per person @ R799, but I went back to look and the board clearly said PER ROOM.

Great centrally located place to most Oudsthoorn attractions. Just on the outskirts of the town. Facilities such as swimming pool and play area great for the kids when hanging around there.
