In Uldalen, not far from the E6, you will find the natural phenomenon that is Kvitskriuprestan. It is made of stone and dirt that is left behind after the rain has washed away moraine, leaving behind column-like umbrellas. The columns are estimated to be around 200 years old and are the only ones of their kind in Northern Europe. Kvitskriuprestan was listed as a natural heritage site in 1977.
Kongsberg man Marcello Haugen was famed in the early 1900s for his alleged clairvoyance, in spite of his controversial practice as a doctor. Marcello was considered a quack even though people would often seek him out to be healed. Sameti, the cottage at the peak of the mountain was a gift to him and is now owned by an association that opens it for visitors to the Pillarguritoppen peak to the south-west of Otta.

There are no major airports near Otta, but the town is 95 miles from Fagernes Airport, Leirin, which offers domestic flights within Norway to larger international airports, connecting you to the UK.
