The location is only 10 minutes from the central bus terminal and only about 20 minutes from the palace and centre. Lots of cafes and restaurants close by the hotel. Breakfast is plentiful something for everyone. Good value for money, I can highly recommend it.

Great room, comfortable bed and nicely appointed. Bathroom was tight, shower doors folded and hit the toilet. Heated bathroom floor and an abundance of hot water were awesome. Wifi was really poor, unable to connect and cast to TV most of the time. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of delicious choices and ran for 4 hrs. My main complaint , which is really not the hotel's fault, was all the characters handing about by the property and along Storgata that made me feel unsafe and especially after dark. I was harassed a few times and as a female solo traveler, it would put me off ever staying here again as I was quite scared at times. Again, not really the fault of the hotel, but it didn't feel good.

Great hotel - basic with no frills but has everything you need and beds were warm and comfortable. Excellent location, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was amazing! Huge variety of foods, very fresh. Probably my favourite breakfast of any hotel I’ve stayed in. Will book again.

Overall great stay! The breakfast was amazing and the staff were all so friendly. Location was good for proximity to the city but did have a lot of homeless near the hotel

The hotel is very nice once inside - perfectly Scandinavian in cleanlines, and comfort. The car parking isn't great, with a group of junkies doing a deal alongside my parking bay when I arrived. Signage to the parking is unclear and just like many things Norwegian, quite expensive.

Second stay at Anker hotel, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is great to access the centre, and Grünerløkka, as well as a walk along the river. The hotel is welcoming, with a nice lounge area, nice clean rooms with great views of the city (from the 13th floor). Highly recommended.

Love the location, it is simply walking distance to the main bur terminal and train station, shopping centers, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was super. I guess I did not like the mattress, it was too soft for me.

The Anker, a former Comfort Inn, is clean and in a walkable neighborhood but has NO frills—no lotion, no frig, no free coffee/tea except at breakfast. Breakfast is fabulous however. Staff seemed stretched; they ran out of room keys when we checked in so we had to wait 12 hrs to get a 2nd key which allowed us to work elevator, lights, leave the room separately, etc.

Location is good. A short tram ride from central Oslo station or even walk if mobile and don't have much baggage. It is a large hotel which is part of a complex including a hostel next door. The room was acceptable with good shower etc. The breakfast buffet was pretty chaotic. Lots of moving around to get their food, hence lots of items may have been touched by people. That increases the risk of picking up an illness. There was a wide selection of food on offer and

Fair stay if visiting Oslo on a budget
A fair stay for the price, hotel was in good enough location if you’re able to walk a short distance from stations etc, tram stop right outside. Lots of undesirables hang out in the street that the hotel is located on which does let it down. Disappointed that there wasn’t a kettle in the room, you can ask for one at reception - when I did there weren’t any available. Housekeeping was a little inconsistent - one day our beds weren’t changed/made but the next they were. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety. Staff generally friendly. Would stay here again as I know what to expect.

Tram lines outside very noisy , and opposite an ambulance station so regular sirens. Had to have window open as no air con in room.

Chose this place based on its good location. Low budget hostel feel for a high price. Room had a bad / stale odor. Bathroom was tiny and ill equiped. Appreciate your breakfast though, and friendly staff who provided me with a drinking glass for the room upon request.

A nice hotel in a clean city!
The hotel is clean and a great value. The service is excellent, very professional but friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was fantastic, and worth whatever they are charging. The room was clean and comfortable, but very small. It did have a closet so there was room to unpack a few things and stow luggage. This hotel's location is very convenient to many good restaurants and the tram. We walked to several museums, but took a cab back.

Stayed here as part of a tour group and booked a couple of extra days on front end. Professional staff at check-in. Reviews are correct for a wet shower in bathroom so need to be creative. PROS- right on a public transportation route so ease of access to Central bus station and many attractions and venues in the area. Could easily walk to certain places depending on where you're going. Room is good size with the basics minus a coffee/tea maker but there are hot drinks available in the lobby. Very large so plenty of tourist groups or teams traveling. CONS- hair all over bathroom didn't look well cleaned. Door slams can easily be heard through walls. Be advised doors don't lock initially when you leave your room so either use your card key or wait a full minute and it will lock afterwards. Great breakfast with good variety of options. All in all not a bad place to stay and be advised there is an Anker Hostel right next door so be careful when booking.
