I was in Orlando for 36 hours for a very important business meeting. The first thing I noticed upon entering the hotel was how hot and humid it was inside the lobby. They obviously do not have airconditioning in the lobby. It smelled like mold and mildew, the industrial fan they had blowing on the front desk did nothing. I was concerned about the temperature in my room, but it was pleasantly cool in there. That is all that was pleasant. The moldy smell that was in the lobby carried into my room, and the first thing I noticed was how dirty the room appeared to be. There were stains on the carpet and the bed looked like it had been hastily made. There was a flimsy blanket on the bed which was shredded in places, and it was obvious the sheets had not been changed. There was crumbs of food and HUMAN HAIR all over in the sheets. The bathroom was a complete disgusting mess as well. The shower was dirty, the towels were stained, and there were pieces of toilet paper all over the floor. All in all it looked like the room had not been cleaned since the hotel opened. I would rather have slept in my car, which I was tempted to do. I ended up laying my blanket from the plane on top of the bed and laying on that, using a sweatshirt as a blanket. Needless to say I did not get any sleep and was very drowsy the next day at my meeting. When I approached the front desk upon checkout the lady was unconcerned, not even offering an apology.
