Wonderful staff; disappointing hotel.

Posted 18-Sep-2017
Pros: We very much liked the staff; super accommodating and immediately responded to our need for fixing the hair dryer and TV.
Cons: The scalding in the shower is a real problem and needs to be fixed.
Location: The hotel is located just off of a street lined on all sides by "sex shops" and "porno shows". Not our idea of a great neighborhood!
The hotel is convenient to the subway which we liked. The staff was terrific. But the room was disappointing. The shower is a real problem; when a toilet was flushed in another room, the shower turned scalding; this happened every morning. The hair dryer and TV didn't work and the decor is in serious need of refreshing.

Nice hotel. Location can be loud or quiet depending on time of year and weather.

Central location, but a little overpriced...

Posted 11-Sep-2017
Central location, but a little overpriced for what you're getting. There is no safe in the room and you have to leave your keys in reception meaning that we had to carry our valuables with us when exploring Paris. Room very quiet despite central location. The doors however need fixing as the door slam very loud every time someone gets in or out of the rooms. This kept us awake throughout the night. On the night we stayed in the hotel, a fire alarm has been raised at 4.30am. I know it happens, but it took at least 5 minutes for someone to actually attend to it. It was a little disappointing that no-one has actually apologised for the incident when we were checking out from the hotel. The towels in the bathroom should have been bleached, as they had some black marks on them. Overall, great location.

Romantic/fun getaway

I booked the hotel not quite aware it was in the 'red light district' at first. We are an older but new couple. It was his first time in paris. I had been before and stayed, hostel, five star and chain hotel. I must say we loved this hotel!! It has real character and is set off the main street. Our room overlooked the centre of the buildings and had lovely french windows that we kept open. Service was first class, very quietly unassuming but nothing too much trouble. It was quiet in the hotel even though the area is open 24 hours. There is a real village/community feel to the area. Locals as well as tourists frequent the many restaurants/brasseries. Food to die for !!! Recommend the Cockney (don't be fooled by its name totally french) and Le Chat Noir brasserie with live jazz where we boogied till 4.30am!! Very central for metro, and big bus. ATM, shops, pharmacy all around. We both agreed that next time we're going back here. Everybody is really friendly and loved it. Having worked in hotels some minor decor upgrades would make it plush! Also a mini fridge to keep my cheese! Would absolutely recommend a stay here! For what we expected and what we paid I rate it a 4/5 !!!

Very small room

The hotel was really nice however our room was awfully small and the bed covers seemed very old and worn. The hotel is next to moulin rouge so the district may not be the best for families

It is my first time in Paris, there is no hot water or even any pot can use, only two small glasses for my party of four , only one outlet can use for such room for four people; no spare pillows. There was no enough cups and pot to get hot water, Wi-Fi service is very unstable, not informed the right price with the taxi service.

Nice place, good experience

Posted 20-Nov-2016 on Orbitz
I choose this place because I found it to be French in nature, and nothing like hotels we have back at home. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was nice. It's a seven minute walk from Blanche Metro stop, which was ver convenient. Their breakfast is ten euro a person, which I found a bit pricey. But it was convient. It should be noted that it's surrounded by a bunch of sex shops and "shows". Not the best impression for a 13 young boy, my son. Wished someone had noted that in the reviews I read. The walls are a bit thin, as we could hear people in their rooms and the street below is up until 5 in the morning. The beds are rather hard, but the room was well heated and the cleaning lady was thorough.
