The breakfast was amazing and the staff was very professional & helpful. The part of the neighborhood that it is in is awful. You must take precautions when walking around at night. Always have the hotel book you a taxi it will be between 20-30 euros cheaper as taxi companies try to rip you off. The rooms are tiny & a wheelchair accessible room has a big bathroom but the shower area is not separate & a little strange & difficult to use.

The staff was super helpful and nice and their buffet is amazing in the morning and for dinner.. plus the views from the dining area are fantastic

Golden City hotel was advertised with free breakfast. When I checked in they told me I had to pay 90 euros for 10 days breakfast for 2 adults. Didn't expect that!

The hotel is clean. But beyond that , there's not much good to say about it. It's in a part of Athens that isn't that great to walk around in after dark, in fact it can feel unsafe at times. The staff were only slightly friendly. They seemed uninterested in their customers. The bed was uncomfortable. The air conditioner didn't work properly. The shower is the weirdest shower we've ever used, mainly due to the fact that you stand in a bath tub that has an even smaller tub inside a tub where the drain is; my feet couldn't properly fit into it to stand for a shower. The breakfast was ok, but the restaurant staff weren't very friendly. We were there the same time as a school group of about 40 kids. It was majorly noisy. Definitely not the place I would recommend for a restful getaway. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Stir clear and book somewhere better and in a better location. This is the first bad review I've ever given to an accommodation. Usually I can find some redeeming qualities but not here.
