Lovely hotel but it was a bit far from the centre. If you plan to see many places for a day then you need to count the travel time around 40 -60 min to the city centre. But if you want to relax there, it would be ideal place.
Family orientated, clean and with really helpful staff. The Pinewood is walking distance from the Metro - surely the best way to get around when not walking.
The breakfast was fresh and varied.
The staff went out of their way to help with pre-ticket booking, printing, entertaining the kids
We stayed there for 3 nights...the hotel is located in a lovely quiet area with very nice restaurants around it...its located about 10mins drive from most of the tourist attractions...the breakfast was very nice...the staff very helpful....the rooms very clean....however we specifically asked for a double bed but got two single beds joined together instead...I cant really fault this hotel in any way....
I have stayed in several hotels for business abroad but this one was on a personal visit. So the hotel was good, the staff friendly, food great and I would rate 4 out of 5 .
As they say you can say a lot about someone during a lost luggage and a rainy day (Its not just about the person who lost, but the ones who make a difference). I lost my valuables and passport and had to run between the cops and the embassy. The hotel became my home until I got everything resolved. that's when I realized this wasn't just another hotel. right from cheerful conversations (Each one of them at the reception and the bar man) to getting my print outs on time, even getting my passport photograph cut to perfection, the staff were with me! when I bid adieu, it was like for some good friends..
Arrived at the Hotel a few hours before check-in time so our rooms were not ready, the reception staff stored our cases and the bar staff were very attentive while we waited with a few cold well needed beverages ;) they came for us as soon as our rooms were ready, we had booked 2 comfort rooms which were spotless and cleaned with towel changes daily. The AC was well received as the temperatures were +35'C as well as the ice machine on the basement floor. We had free wifi in with the room rate and with the USB ports in the rooms didn't need an adapter to charge our phones/iPads. The only criticism I would have is the only English speaking Sky channel was Sky news 24, and there was only a single chair on each of the balconies no good if 2 of you wanted to sit out and there was no table :( The Hotel did have several coach tours coming and going but they seemed so well organised this did not impact on our stay at any time. The Hotel is a good distance from Rome centre which we knew before we booked and the staff were so helpful directing us to the local transport links it was never an issue, and we purchased our Roma cards at reception. Breakfast was more than adequate with sliced Ham & cheeses, fruits, yoghurts & cereals, breads & croissants with different spreads & jams and bacon & scrambled eggs with choice of beverages. Unfortunately we didn't find the time to use the gym or attend the restaurant in the evening. Overall we had an excellent 4 night stay and would book again
My girlfriend and I chose this apartment to have the convenience of a kitchen and a pool (seeing as our visit was at the end of June) and it appeared good value.
The apartment was a fantastic size, with spacious balcony and bathroom and kitchen were very clean and good quality appliances.
The hotel itself had no flaws and we couldn't have been happier. The only issue is that you feel a little out of town... BUT the train station is right on your doorstep. The "tobachi" next door sells train + metro tickets at €1.50 and it takes about 15 mins to pop up at most central sites. Alternatively, a bus takes you straight to Vatican (although we never actually took this).
Rest assured, we had a couple of later nights in the city after dinner and a taxi home was around €15.
Finally, one of the best meals we had was actually in the restaurant right next door to the hotel which we went to after a particularly long touristy day!
Would recommend this apartment if you want somewhere to relax as well as do site seeing. Perhaps better for those staying a week rather than weekend getaway.
