Closest to Olympic National Park

Welcome to OLYMPIC-NATIONAL a family getaway nestled on the border and entrance to coastal Olympic National Park at Rialto Beach. With nothing separating you from the Park, you are immersed in peace and quiet among the massive trees of the forest. At this nearly 30+ acre compound you can enjoy 1,000 feet of river front and nearly a half mile of Olympic National Park frontage. The salmon run on the Quillayute River is one of the best in the region. Guests remark that the home is perfectly located to explore Olympic National Park since it is so close to so many attractions.

The vacation rental is Cape Cod style with a river rock fireplace and modern kitchen. Shaker and Craftsman styles highlight the interior and a great room opens to a large south-facing deck extending your entertaining and sunning. This is a modern home with new amenities, appliances and furniture as well as computer controlled air conditioning and heat, no keys are needed to enter the home, light dimming and sensors make your stay easy and comfortable.

Elk, deer and bald eagles make their home here. The elk leave the Park to graze in the pasture below the deck and bald eagles live at the river front where their favorite fishing hole is located.

HIKING: There are trails on the property and nearby including Rialto Beach, Hole in the Wall, Lake Ozette, First/Second/Third Beaches, James Lake and others. The confluences of the Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Quillayute and Dickey Rivers are within 2 miles. The Hoh Rain Forest, Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Hot Springs, Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Beach are all within an hour from here. Lake Ozette is just a 8.5 mile trip by raven.

FISHING: For fishing enthusiasts, the river front has one of the best salmon fishing holes in the region and is home to the best native steelhead fisheries in the contiguous United States. Halibut and ocean fishing is available at LaPush. There is plenty of parking for cars and boats on trailers and there is room to pitch tents if needed. The gravel bar along the property is an excellent stretch of fly fishing water and is a great place to fish. The Quillayute hosts chinook, coho, sockeye and at times pink salmon. Sea-run cutthroat trout are abundant. A fishing license is not required to fish in Olympic National Park; however, you need a free salmon/steelhead catch record if you are targeting these fish. The gravel bar is shared with Olympic National Park.

A big screen HD TV and cable with Netflix, DVR and other premium channels give you access to a selection of movies and TV shows. High speed Internet and WiFi are also provided for your streaming pleasure. A computer work space provides comfortable seating along with multiple USB charging stations.

If you have any special needs or requests, please let us know in advance and we will do our best meet and exceed your expectations.

Regards, Jim

We had a wonderful stay at this Olympic Peninsula home. It was extremely clean and had everything needed for a stay close the park. We felt like we had all the amenities we needed. Even though the home is in a remote area, there were all the comforts of home.

Gem in the ONP
This house and property are fantastic. If we could rate it higher, we would. The quiet seclusion plus the daily visits from the local elk herd make this place magical. The house is spacious yet cozy and very clean. It has all you need to be at home on your vacation. The access to the park is phenomenal with short drives to multiple beaches and rain forest hikes. We can’t wait to book our next trip. Thank you to our host for making this property available!

Amazing week!
We absolutely loved this property and our visit to ONP! We were able to set up our base camp here and travel to all of the major park sights. The property was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We even got to see Elk in the pasture on our last morning. Thank you for an amazing vacation!

Magical forest and river
The forest and river on the property are fantastic because you're essentially surrounded by the Olympic National Park. The location is also ideal for exploring the many nearby beaches and the Hoh rainforest. In particular, the Second Beach trail is a short hike to tidepools (near the north of the beach, but not all the way to the arch) that had exceptional marine life at low tide. With binoculars, we had good views of whales and seals offshore! The home and outdoor deck were comfortable, clean, and convenient. The host was helpful and responsive. The water level in the river on the property was lower than usual when we visited, but that enabled us to walk on the smooth rock beds along the river, enjoying the gorgeous views and the beautiful colors and shapes of the river pebbles. Of all the terrific places we stayed in the Pacific Northwest, this property is the one where my husband wants to return.

Rialto beach getaway
Wonderful home. This is a beautiful property located on 30 acres of preserved land directly adjacent to Olympic national park. We saw elk deer, rabbits, bald eagles and a bear in the expansive backyard. 2.3 mile drive to Rialto beach. Home is renovated with many updates and modern on the inside. Very nice kitchen and appliances. Easy check in process. The owner was responsive. The only thing that would make this home more perfect, would be a hot tub on the expansive back deck, and a king bed in the master bedroom. Otherwise perfect in every way. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return again.

Phenomenal stay
This property is the most majestic one our family has ever experienced. The pictures don’t do justice to the sounds, scope and textures of the landscape. Quite literally, the house borders ONP and the access to all that it offers. We’d highly recommend it to anyone of any age

Don’t hesitate, just book it!
The house and location are absolutely fantastic for visiting Olympic National Park. Ideally located to visit the coastline as well as Sol Duc, Hoh, and Quinalt. The River access was great for our down days at the house. The house feels brand new… impeccably clean. The property is incredibly private and sandwiched between national park lands so really it’s like you never leave the park. The kitchen was well stocked. The host was responsive and welcoming. My girls took their hammocks and hammocked in the trees. They caught tadpoles and juvenile cut throat trout by the river. We relaxed on the back porch and grilled out in the evenings. We saw deer, an owl, and countless bald eagles. We would not look elsewhere if returning to the area! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Peaceful
Our stay at Closest to Olympic was great. We were in awe at the property being on 30+ acres and enjoyed sitting out on the deck looking over the vast forest towards the ocean. Really convenient to many places of interest. Clean and well stocked. If we travel as a group, we would stay here again.
