The location is good with lots of restaurants options nearby within walking distance. The property was advertised as spa, but no one explains the service available.

Perfect location. restaurants and coffee shops close by. Beach, marina and pier within walking distance. Bike rental right outside. Highly recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

I originally booked a hotel up the street, where I had previously stayed. It has cozy rooms and I booked one with a fireplace.The Portola Hotel was more expensive and disappointing in these ways: rooms were sterile, not cozy; I paid extra for the King Courtyard and it was a view of the roof and the roof of the atrium; the pool is in an adjacent building where you have to walk in your robe through a public courtyard to get to; pool and hot tub not that hot. Water pressure, not that good, Stain on the duvet when I folded it over. The lobby is nice but I didn't come to sit in the lobby. Overall, it was ok.

Awesome location, luxury hotel at reasonable prices, hot tub (large almost like a mini pool), heated pool, balcony, top notch amenities and did I mention walkable to the beach and other Monterey tourist activities? It is a perfect spring break getaway!

Portola hotel is one of Monterey’s best hotels. The staff is friendly, accommodating and very helpful. The views are great, rooms are clean and spacious. Easy walk to the warf and downtown.

We loved the location. It is within walking distance of a lot of our favorite places to go to while in Monterey, whether it be shopping or dining. The valet parking option is cool, but not entirely necessary. We would definitely consider staying here again when we come down to Monterey.

Property has the best location! Two minute walk to the Wharf and literally some of the best dining right down the street. The rooms are nice and clean and so is the property. We used the hot tub every night and met so cool people also enjoying the hot tub. We’ll definitely be staying here again and recommend it.
