"Great hotel right across from the Shinkyo Bridge. The ryokan experience is worth it. Even though breakfast is not served in the hotel, there are complimentary croissants, bread and coffee in the rooms. Parking is not at the hotel but in a lot in one of the back streets which was a bit inconvenient since it was poring heavy rain. I recommend staying here."

Good idea to rent a car at Toyota Rent a Car/Hertz as the drives through the mountains are great, and the local bus service is good, but does not run all day."

New, clean and very comfy (leaves Asakusa sun in Tokyo and stops at Ueno also from memory"
