TV not viewable from bed. This is a known situation, well documented in the reviews of other travelers, yet, the hotel has not remedied this situation, nor will they attempt to move you to a different/better room. One of the bed posts of the bed in this room was broken, hence, the bed was not level, and it was impossible to sleep comfortably. When this was brought to the attention of the front desk person the following morning, they were rude, dismissive and disrespectful - no apology, no attempt at listening to what the customer had to say. Shockingly poor customer service.

Room was fine but the lack of proper shade or curtain was bad. It was like luna park in the room all night. We were in a "Fido" room, but still need some darkness to sleep.

Had an ocean facing room, view of the beach and sunrise was great. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Bed is on the softer side but not uncomfortable. The only real negative is the lights on the deck are not on a switch and make the room very bright for sleeping.

Bright and clean
We are in York frequently but had never stayed at the York Beach Surf Club. It has had renovations this past year and they did a great job. The room was really clean and had all the amenities including large screen TV, plenty of outlets and USB ports. Bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo and lotion. Shower was large walk in and all fixtures were new and very current with trends. Wish the towels were a little more plush, as they were a little skimpy. Mattress was really comfortable and linens were nice. Decor and furniture is tasteful, simple with clean lines and in line with current fashion. HVAC on wall for heat or cool and floor were nice and warm. We had self check in and found the whole process very easy. Renovations were well done and we enjoyed our stay. Would recommend as room was nicely appointed and very clean.

Great location! Could use a few small touches
The location is great! Right off the water and on one of the main streets that allows easy access to town and other populated areas. You can catch the sun rise from your room/right out the door. Our room was large, but felt empty, only a bed, bench and another chair. The rooms could use a small table or desk or something to eat on besides the bed. Maybe a table at the window to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise?

First me stress the rooms were remodeled clean and the beds were awesome. We arrived and our room was not ready at 7:00pm and there was no place close by to get a meal. The inn did not have any snakes on hand. The next morning we send down for coffee and pastries that we were told would be available at 7:00 am and the office was still locked up. Went back down to have breakfast at 9:00 am as told the restaurant would open, waited 2 hour to get mediocre meal. Thankfully our meal was comped.

Loved the property! But I called ahead and was assured there was a Keruig coffee maker in the room and there was not. The cafe doesn't open till 9am and the coffee unit they supply is not good. If I was told there was not a Keruig in the room , I would have brought mine.

My stay at the Surf Club was amazing. My room was on the 3rd floor (301). It was direct ocean front.The view was amazing. My room was updated and very clean. My only negative is the chairs out on the deck. They were uncomfortable and quite worn. I would suggest updating them! I was lucky that I had brought my camping chair to sit on the beach, but I had to haul it up three flights of stairs, just to be able to sit out on the deck at night comfortably. I also wasn't very thrilled with the Pineapple Cafe, so I ordered from Stones Throw down on York Street and the food was delicious. I will definitely be visiting the Surf Club again!!

Quick overnight stay
Loved our stay here!! The only complaint I will mention is the banging noise that echos through out the hotel every time the doors would close. We brought a fan so that helped to zone it out. Cleanliness and service was fantastic, modern room with a cozy feel, and the layout was fantastic. Would stay here again!
