Nice small hotel

Pros: It was very tranquil.
Cons: More shampoo and a blow dryer in the bathroom would be nice.
Location: It is close to a supermarket, Target and Berkeley.
My family and I enjoyed a nice, quiet stay. I was lucky to get a same day booking. Everything was as described on line. We did not use the kitchenette, but now that we are aware of it, we will plan on using it next time.

Nice view, great neighborhood, Close to grocery stores & conviences. Decent rooms. No pool or hot tub. Has kitchenette.

Low rent uncomfortable hotel with rude staff

This hotel is close to my workplace, which I am commuting to cross country weekly, and fit my budget, so I repeatedly stayed and gave it every chance to work. I tried to check in at 1 am after traveling for 12 hours only to be told on multiple visits by the rude night clerk that she was running the printer and I would have to wait 25 minutes to check in. The room although non-smoking smelled of pot or cigarettes regularly. When I complained, the front desk hung up on me. The elevator and lobby literally had dirt in them. The Hotel does not clean the rooms daily or have any amenities. Breakfast is a granola bar and apple or orange. This place is uncomfortable and not worth even the low rate they charge. Management could care less about customer service and pays only lip service to even repeat customers. Stay elsewhere.

To uphold our company’s high standards, I will use your comments to retrain our front desk staff on how to handle check-in’s during our night audit and make sure we are providing each guest with professional customer service. Regarding housekeeping, we provide housekeeping services to guests staying eight or more nights; however, these services are always available upon request for an additional fee. While we no longer keep dishes in guest rooms, these items are available upon request at the front desk. In response to your feedback, I will make sure we are clearly communicating our amenities during guest arrivals as well as thoroughly inspecting our rooms. Your feedback is very important to us, so thank you for sharing. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to provide you with a better stay the next time you're in the area.

My overall stay was great enjoy n my boyfriend lov it n close to my house we need to get away from kids but no too far from them . We love it so much we coming back every two week .but there only once small issue I can still smell cigaret smoke other then that I giv 100%

Room smelled like old socks

Room smelled, so I said open the windows and turn on the fan it will be fine. No, it didn't help. I had to have the room key reprogrammed every night to get into my room. The last night of my stay I woke to the sound of water spraying. At 5:00 in the morning my husband had to lie down in spraying hot water to turn it off under the sink. Oh, and last but not least the bath water never got warmer than luke warm. Who needs a hot bath after a day of walkin? Me!

Comfortable and quiet

Pros: Proximity to Oakland, good wireless options (both free and enhanced) -- looks like a nice area for walking pets if you are traveling with one.
Cons: Add a no-sugar creamer to the breakfast options other than just the little packets of dry stuff.
Location: I did not take advantage of BART, so I don't know where that station was, but Alameda is a good location if you are traveling/visiting around the area
I was attending a conference a mile away in Oakland, so I used a cab each day. I would recommend that you have a car, though, because there are no restaurants too close by -- a market and small mall about a five minute walk, however. I was surprised at the meagerness of the breakfast, which wasn't what I remembered from other hotels in the chain. But these hotels are meant for those who fend for themselves more than in full service hotels, so you have to know to ask for what you need (including room service). the kitchen unit was was set up nicely, and I easily received what I needed for my short stay. Front desk staff were busy, but if not at the desk, responded quickly to my call when I asked for a blow dryer. I found them to be pleasant and welcoming. Location was quiet and the bed was wonderful. There is a train that goes through Oakland, so you hear the whistle, but I was seldom aware of that.

The first time we stayed here it took 30 min to check in and my room smelled of urine. I only stayed here again because of parking. Second stay was worse. The beds weren't made in our room.

Great Location and Views!

Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Would be nice to have coffee available through-out the day in the lobby.
Location: Drive is quick to Jack London Square and historic downtown Oakland. If you don't want to drive, hotel is walking distance to nice eating places.
I was very impressed with the hotel. Rooms look out on the beautiful Alameda marina across the bay from Jack London Square. Room and hotel was very clean. Each floor had a cozy lounge area with great views of the bay. I have stayed at other Extended Stays, but this one is exceptional!

Awful smoking smell throughout the halls and room

Could not believe the odor. They offered to spray chemicals to mask the smell but had no other rooms.

Need some improvements
