Top Oakham Hotel Reviews

The Barnsdale, Rutland
10/10 Excellent
"I must admit, we were a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but our experience was just fantastic! From the polite and friendly staff, the beautiful surroundings, the room (number 14) which was huge and had a wonderful rain shower and complimentary sponge cakes (delicious!), as well as a fan to keep us cool in the unusually hot weather. We made good use of the spa facilities with a swim in the pool then a relaxing time in the hot tub and sauna to finish. We never had to wait although I'm sure you do at ver6 busy times. Breakfast was delicious and quick too with a good selection of cold foods and hot food cooked to order. We didn't eat at the hotel for dinner so we're unable to review that, but it was great to finish our evening with a coffee in the beautiful courtyard. We absolutely loved our stay and would come again!"

The Beeches Hotel and Leisure Club

"Stayed here many times, but my god , please consider installing air con for the warmer months and also a fridge in the rooms would be a great idea. Breakfast was good as always, a pint was a little bit pricey compared to nearby pubs, but all in all , it’s a great location and a nice hotel."

The Grand Hotel Leicester by The Unlimited Collection

"Brilliant staff attitude. Couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming. The entire hotel has been beautifully restored."

Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"This is a superb hotel but I think your experience depends very much on the room you choose. The grounds are vast and various accommodation built on a hill, with reception in the beautiful main hotel whilst the restaurant and pool are higher up. Buggies are available to take guests around and the views can be spectacular. I originally booked a cosy double without thinking about the importance of the view. Although thoughtfully placed on the ground floor to aid my mobility, the room overlooked a wall and felt dark and depressing for me as a solo traveller. Couples or families may feel differently. Reception staff appreciated my dilemma, were excellent and helped me move to a beautiful room with a balcony on the same level as the restaurant and pool. It completely changed my stay. I did pay more, but for this hotel I would absolutely recommend paying extra for the balcony and view. The lodges also looked lovely. The restaurant had a modern atmosphere with background music and very attentive staff. Breakfast was buffet style whilst dinner was waiter service, yet I still felt completely comfortable dining alone. The pool was lovely, the massage was fabulous and everywhere was clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay again, but next time I would be much wiser about my room choice."

Burleigh Court Hotel

"Really nice hotel with friendly staff and great facilities. Food was really good in the restaurant. My only frustration was that the pool and gym didn’t open til 8am on BH Monday which was too late for us and we didn’t find out til that morning."
