Top Oakham Hotel Reviews

The Marquess Of Exeter
8/10 Good
"Excellent staff and room. The evening menu is brilliant and rather large portions
Unfortunately, breakfast is slow. You have to advise time to eat and what you require the day before "

"Reception staff pretty poor, not helpful, seemed more interested in conversing with each other.
The restaurant staff however were exceptional"

Burleigh Court Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"So much better than I expected. The bar area, restaurant and huddle areas were all so beautifully done and the food and drink lprices were very reasonable.
Plenty of electric car charging available.
All staff we encountered were helpful, polite and friendly.
Rooms very comfortable and modern.
Will definitely book again next time we stay in Loughborough."

The Beeches Hotel and Leisure Club
10/10 Excellent
"Great stay, lovely polite stay and facilities why brilliant.
Clean, tidy and spacious rooms finished to a good standard. Beds were comfortable.
Only downside would be maybe some of the soundproofing between rooms especially where there is an adjoining door. Whilst in bed the sound of the light switches in the neighbouring room could be heard.
Saying that I’d easily stay here again."

"Nice place with a great steak dinner"

Redwings Lodge Uppingham
4/10 Poor
"We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children. We have previously stayed at the hotel a few years ago and had no problems. Yet this time when we went in the sofa bed was not set up. We spoke to the lady in reception who came back to the room with covers and we were told it was normal that guests set up the sofa bed ourselves. We struggled to get it flat and when we raised this , it was implied that it was our problem and there was no other rooms. The sofa bed had no mattress and was incredibly uncomfortable. The sofa bed is not very large and has large arms on the side. It was not really big enough for our two children to sleep on. I can’t recommend anyway staying if they have to use the sofa bed.
The hotel itself is basic and clean. The breakfast is cereal and toast and was what was expected. Apart from the bed the hotel had everything that was needed."

Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa
6/10 Okay
"The “hotel” is really a series of separate buildings spread out across a large site. There is no central location to meet for drinks/ coffee. The only restaurant is at the top of a hill (accessed by steep stairways/roads ). There appeared to be some golf buggies but it was not clear how these could be accessed.
The restaurant was large and cafeteria-like, lacking in atmosphere. There was a restricted menu; no room service available (you have to collect your meal) and I was told at 4.15 that they stopped serving afternoon tea at 4pm ( which is exactly when most people would want it).
The room was clean and well decorated but it was very dimly lit and had minimal toiletries ( no shower cap/tissues). At just over £200 a night for a standard double room it was not great value."
