Close to the beach but not that close

Posted 31-Jul-2016
Pros: It was quiet. It was a few blocks back from the beach and we were good with that.
Cons: It would have been nice if the actual parking fee amount would have been on the website.
Location: A short walk to restaurant and retail shops and a few block from the beach.
We stayed two nights. It was a comfort room. They did had a continental breakfast, I was surprised that they did not have fresh fruit. After all we were in Hawaii, I was hoping for good fresh fruit.

Très bien pour rapport qualité prix

Posted 28-Jul-2016

Good hotel close to everything you need

Posted 26-Jul-2016
Pros: Great bed. Friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast range.
Location: Close enough to both shopping and the beach.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel has recently become the Coconut (was a Best Western) and probably needs a bit of an upgrade but still quite nice and in decent condition. Bed was amazing. Breakfast was ok, you can make your own waffles. 5 minute walk to the shopping and 10 minutes to the beach.

More of a motel than hotel

Posted 25-Jul-2016
I based my decision to stay at Coconut Waikiki Hotel on the ratings and what I expected the rooms to be like from the pictures. Instead I got a tiny room you'd expect to see in a motel. They were also doing renovations on the floor my room was at and it looked more like a slum motel than anything else. The amenities in the room was okay. Standard fare. I wouldn't stay here again if it was free. And also the small AC in my room was really moldy on the inside. I went my entire stay without using it.

Nice hotel!

Posted 18-Jul-2016
Pros: -Customer Service -Included breakfast -Location
Cons: - The "look" of the hotel could be improved. The doors were hard to close, bathroom door did not lock. Hallway after elevator was too simple.
Location: -Lots of restaurants and ABC stores -Beach access -bars -Bus routes
The OK: The facilities are simple looking. Not as nice as the pictures make it look like. Looks like the typical hotel just to go back and sleep. The pool is very small. The Great!: The customer service of all the staff was superb!, on par to 5-star hotels. They accommodated all our requests efficiently and always with a smile. The included breakfast was a continental stile breakfast but surprisingly really good. The waffle maker stations were a hit with my family. And boiled eggs satisfied our cravings for having egg in our breakfast. So I would say their breakfast is a big plus. The location is also great!. 2 blocks from the Royal hawaiian center which is a very happening place, 3 blocks from the Sheraton Waikiki which is a good entry point to access the beach. I would definitely recommend it for a price point of less than $250 a night. If I were to pay more than that, I would probably look for a resort closer to the beach.

Centralt beliggende hotel på Waikiki

Posted 18-Jul-2016
Wifi fungerer tilfredsstillende.

No parking

Posted 13-Jul-2016
Pros: Overall very disappointing, we called Expedia to try to find us another hotel but they worked with front desk to try and find us parking.
Cons: Parking issues need to be addressed and resolved by the coconut hotel Waikiki rather than having customers spend their vacation time to do this.
There was no self park options and valet was full. After almost 2 hours a valet space became available but this was after 30 min of driving around looking for a place to park on the street. There were Stains on one of the pillow cases. Then the Front desk called us at 12:30 am and woke us up asking us how many people were in the room due to a noise complaint. We were sleeping! Next morning our car was brought to us but there was no communication or offer to assist with luggage.

NEVER AGAIN!!! STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Posted 10-Jul-2016
Tried repeatedly to nickel and dime us. Booked through Expedia which clearly stated FREE breakfast and FREE wifi, but staff stilled tried to charge the amenity fee. Even after showing them where it said it on the website, they demanded I pay it. Even the hotels websites states "complimentary breakfast and wifi, and never a resort fee". The staff rudely stated I had been informed of this extra charge and stated I had accepted it, NOT TRUE. I was informed that it was free at check in and they still rudely argued the point, even with it clearly stated on the website. The front desk staff during this event was very rude and was purposefully being a smart a** to the point I had my family leave and go to the car in case it escalated. Unbelievable. Ultimately, I did not pay the fee because they found it in their hearts to "waive" the fee their website says the "never" charge. The "executive suite" I booked was just a regular sized run down room, absolutely nothing special at all. Breakfast was garbage. The only parking available is a valet service, no parking lot, no street parking. Unless you want to find a parking garage somewhere else and walk to the hotel, they will gouge you for this fee as well. I really though it was going to be nice, but I was sadly mistaken. You can hear the greed in their voices and through their actions. This is a very sad excuse for a hotel. STAY ANYWHERE ELSE.
