My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. Every villa is lovely and has its own private pool. The staff are so so lovely and always went above and beyond. They coordinated our travel to and from airport and were happy to drive us wherever we needed (though we didn't push limits... most of our trips were pretty short)
Daily breakfast and high tea were included and were welcome treats. Again, the service was excellent - very friendly and cordial. We did a sunrise breakfast on the beach that was inclusive and it was a fabulous experience.
The room was spacious, and the private pool was a great luxury. My husband said many times that he felt so pampered.
My only quibble would be that the beach area isn't that great for walking (pretty rocky) but that's super duper minor, in my opinion.
This hotel is very nice. Staff were most friendly, helpful and professional at all times. We were a little disappointed that local people are allowed onto the beach, trying to sell things to sunbathers when it is promoted as a private beach. However, the sales people were relatively quiet. Wonderful views of ocean and walkway along the beach front allows guests to walk past the gardens of other major luxury hotels along the beach, which is lovely. One problem for us is that families with young children seem to dominate almost every space. More adult only areas would be an improvement, including restaurants as these tended to be very noisy with some badly behaved children running up and down uncontrolled. Children should not be allowed in the bar area, for example, or maybe one of the bars could be set aside for adults who want a quiet and romantic experience. We used the fitness centre, which was extremely clean and well looked after. Lovely tennis court and spa treatment area. Especially the 25 metre lap pool near the spa, which was an enforced quiet area not allowing children under 12. The hotel gives cash discount vouchers which can be used at any restaurant or bar, which was great.
"The perfect place for a peaceful romantic getaway"
This place was amazing and exactly what we were looking for! We need a break from the chaos of normal life, a little bit of luxury and some peace and quiet... and this place delivered and then some!
Upon arriving we were encouraged to relax at the lobby and were given a delicious refreshing drink while a man who seemed to have a permanent smile (his name was too long to pronounce or remember sorry) gave us the run down on the facilities, services, and what to see and do.
The room (the word 'room' is hardly adequate) and outdoor area were incredible.... far exceeding expectations! It was hard to go out and do things it was so comfortable and beautiful. We hardly used the butler (a bit outside our comfort zone) but the few requests were responded to well.
The food at both restaurants was fantastic and the cocktails (though light on alcohol) were the best I have tasted! What struck us most was how quiet and pleasant it was, never super busy or bustling with people or noise - exactly what we wanted!
The stand out feature of this place - aside from the incredible room and atmosphere, oh and the driver and the butler - has to be the staff. They were so smiling and happy and proactive. They went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional.
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer! It took a few days to really unwind and enjoy the place... and then we really only had a day before we left.
Bali Tip: Get a taxi to Ubud (stay there a few days if you can) as it is AMAZING.

I travelled with my husband and 12 year old daughter and booked the hotel last minute. The hotel is directly on the beach, with superb views of the ocean and in a beautiful garden setting. The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful, incredibly thoughtful and completely focused on making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We had an all inclusive package, which was truly inclusive, the variety and quality of the food and drink was excellent, we had a butler catering to our every need, our laundry was done, and we had a special treat every day...massage, a show, a trip to temples, walking on the seabed..We started in a beautiful twin bedded suite but moved to a villa as our private pool did not get enough sun. Both the suite and villa were beautiful, and cleaned twice a day. There was fresh fruit in the room every day and wonderful touches- rose petals on the bed, kimonos, beach bag and hat supplied. The only slight drawback for us was that we did not meet many other guests as the accomodation is very private and all meals can be taken in the rooms if preferred. All in all a beautiful romantic setting for a wonderful relaxing holiday.
Spent 2 nights at the 1br villa which was spacious and well furnished. Villa had a breathtaking ocean view but unfortunately part of it was blocked by other villas situated in front of ours. At night the stars fill the sky and can be best viewed at the pavilion by the poolside. Room service was excellent but breakfast was slightly disappointing for its limited spread and quality. Service was extremely prompt and staff were warm and friendly. Special commendation to Oky who went out of his way to help fix our kite as we were first time kite-flyers. Overall ulu segara felt luxurious and provided good value for its price. Will definitely be back.
Nusa Dua is synonymous with style. Bali’s most luxurious resorts are located here, along with a championship golf course ranked among Asia’s Top 5. The southern tip of Benoa Peninsula delivers seclusion, a palm-fringed reef-protected beach, clear waters for diving, and waves that rate from gentle (northern peninsula) to surfable (southern peninsula). Art galleries, fashion boutiques, and restaurants provide plenty of temptation.
