OVERALL GOOD 2ND FAVORITE
The restaurant reception and the staff in general were great. The only drawback was the cleaning ladies who forgot to stop by some of the days during the week. When they did stop by they were very polite but rushed. When they did stop by to clean they cleaned. This is the reason why I gave it a very good instead of excellent! The gym and pool are great and for the moment the best I've seen in the places that I stayed in Rio.

NICE HOTEL NICE FACILITIES
I really enjoyed my stay here and I am impressed with the swimming pool facilities along with the sauna and steam room. They have a big exercise room or weight room and I think anyone would appreciate that especially since we're talking about within a hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. Having worked in the airline and travel industry for 20 years I have been around the world and stayed in many different types of properties at many different types of price levels and I loved this property. The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful - especially Marcelly and her and I were able to communicate well, even with my limited Portuguese - they all tried to communicate with me and accommodate any of my needs. I loved the restaurant connected to the hotel and it’s staff - such speedy, fantastic service and amazing pizza!

Decent but need some improvement.
Front desk staff was superb and friendly. Housekeeping was rude kept knocking on door louder and louder for over 15 minutes after ignoring it and obviously the room was locked from inside, since they tried to opened and couldn’t. One time it was cleaned but only changed the garbage bag, and gave 2 towels. And made a super sloppy bed, almost as messy as I left. Although I left message upon check in with front desk, to please do not disturb or call due to a surgery I had, that I must not be undisturbed. Someone, kept calling and knocking until I got up and disconnected the phone and open the door just to ask the same thing again. Pool looked gross lot of dirt in the water, rooms have no bedskirts with box spring showing, it looked very unfinished and sloppy. Bed was comfortable, clean crispy sheets, but cheap mattress, only 2 shower towels and one face left in bathroom. No coffee maker, or iron in room, no free coffee or water on lobby. Super basic hotel… But safe nice looking, in a good location for the town, specially if you are on foot during daytime…

GREAT STAY NICE PEOPLE
I really enjoyed my stay here and the people were very accommodating. They have a large pool a sauna and a steam room accessible only open until 10:00 p.m. . Everything around the place from food to the mall is within a short walking distance.

It's not my first time in the hotel.
We'll the biggest reason why I like mercury nova Iguacu its because it's close to my family & the peaple that work ove.r there ththey're well trained,they have what I love it: they have a great customer service.

I had a good stay except discrepancy ( charged for 4 nights instead of two plus they charged for breakfast which is supposed to be free per hotel.com advertisement + great last minute deal i got )in what i have book for, through hotel.com and at hotel they have different booking rate. I inquire and showed my booking to the receptionist at 3:30 Am cuz my flight was delay from Panama, she was not happy at first then ask my credit card. which i had to give her despite telling her that booking made out through hotel.com I didn't inquire, resist, pay attention but i wrote a letter to the Manager but didn't get a response yet also sent an email to hotel.com customer service. for the tourists FYI its not easy to get there especially if you are with kids its way far from GIG airport and its more than 35 minutes drive by Taxi when there is no traffic. Good thing Luiz Fernando & Daniela speaks good English and they will assist you very well. Continental Breakfast is good.but remember they charge 35 per person. (i have stayed in many hotels in Rio, all offers free breakfast, but every hotel has their own policy though.) Mercure has nice rooms though.

The hotel staff were very helpful and attentive to anything I needed. The rooms were great nice and clean. Beautiful view in my room. I would definitely come stay here again ;)

I stayed only one night. My room was dirty and asked to be moved to another room. It was way too far from the airport, from the city centre, from the carnival and from the beaches. I did not like the neighbourhood. It was not appropriate for my holiday hence I moved.

First time in Brazil
I came to Rio for Carnaval and this hotel was part of the package. I liked the hotel very much but wish that I had chosen one closer to Rio de Janeiro. The front desk personnel were very helpful and made it easy for me to get around.

Great hotel in a so-so place
I needed to spend the night north of Rio de Janeiro as my flight landed late and I had to drive early the following day. This hotel seemed to be the solution. while I had a very nice stay, two things made it no so great: 1. Thehotel's location is very difficult to get to, as roads are windy and poorly marked. I spent quite some time trying to reach the hotel late at night. I speak Portuguese, so I can only imagine how much harder it could be for someone who does not fully understand Brazil's language. 2. The wifi service, while complimentary, was terrible: very slow and off and on. This is a business hotel, so they should fix that.

hotel is excellent. It takes 1hr and a half by train and metro to copacabana. Hotel is in real brazil. No tourists which is the way like it! Enables you to experience how Brazilians live. I came here with my son and felt safe. Would come again.

Distance is too far from rio de janeiro and from the stadium between 45 to an hour, not like you said on your Web page 20 to 25 min, service and attention is very poor. some installations like summing pool and sauna were awful to use. not recommended.

Nice hotel but neighborhood not so great
My wife and I stayed 7 nights at this hotel and we were pleased with our stay. The hotel itself is nice but there is nothing to do in the area. We took the train and subway every day to go to Copacabana beach. The ride is approx. 1 hour 20 minutes between both. The train ride is recommended during the day but not at night. We heard it is not safe. The hotel is clean and the room is fully equipped with refrigerator and safe. We did not eat the restaurant so we cannot really say how it is. Overall, everything was good.

On check in, despite having papers that stated I had already paid in full, I was made to wait 30 minutes whilst they tried, unsuccessfully to confirm they had received payment. Hotel is located far from everything, immediate area looks ok, but it overlooks the 24hour bus station and trains run alongside regularly. Despite having lots of potential as a nice hotel, it is run down, with rubble strewn everywhere, the pool is filthy, I was too scared to put my head under the water! The ugliest infinity pool I ever seen! The staff tried to be helpful, but I was charged 160R for the 30 minute taxi to the airport because it was a 'holiday season' (31st Dec) despite paying 120R for the 2 hour ride from Copacabana the day before. I would think carefully about the reasons for choosing this hotel.

Hotel staff do not understand English. Their ability to understand English is below average. If you can speak portuguese then its fine. Even though I completed the Hotel Check-In form, that ask for my nationality and also, I gave my British Passport. They still put my country as 'CHINA', when clearly Iam from England!!! I told the staff and they just laughed, and not apologize. Iam disgusted that just because I look chinese, they assume Iam from China. What if Iam from Korea? How would they like it I say that they are from India when they 'look' like indian? I asked to booked a tour for 3 days, but they tour guide said he will not see me after the second day - but I paid to have him for 3 days. I got ripped off. I paid him 800 BRL(Brazlian Real) and it was meant to be for 3 days. Also, the tour guide gave poor service, he did not talk about the history of brazil, the statue, etc. He just took me to the place like a taxi driver. Avoid this tour company ' RIO RESPONSE'. Hotel is clean thats the only positive thing - they need to employ staff that know English.

Gostei bastante da estadia. Bem elegante e confortável. Só o quarto que é para o lado da piscina fica meio barulhento por ter um bar em frente. Mas tirando isso, perfeito. Quero voltar com certeza.
