"Hotel right on the campus at Nottingham University"
My daughter and I found this to be a very convenient hotel to stay at when visiting Nottingham university. It is very modern, and from the reception area looks like it will be quite up-market. Our room was very clean but we thought rather basic. The beds were very firm - I slept well but my daughter did not. There was only a very small mirror on the table to use when drying hair etc. I had to request extra tea and coffee from reception (there were other people doing the same thing at the time so a frequent need). Still, not problems that affected the quality of our stay. We did eat dinner in the restaurant and that was a little disappointing. It took a long time for staff to take our order and even longer for food to arrive. When it did it was OK but pretty unexciting for the price. Some kind of vegetable or salad garnish would be nice to have when you're paying £16 for a bit of chicken, plain rice and curry sauce (literally sauce with no veg in it). Breakfast at £14.95 each was (we thought) something we didn't need to buy when we only really wanted a bit of toast.

"Smart, traditional hotel in the city centr"
In the heart of Nottingham's Lace Market area and within easy walking distance of all the sights we were interested in, this hotel fitted the bill perfectly. We would certainly stay here again if we were to return to Nottingham.

check in was smooth and the young lady on reception was very helpful and pleasant the room are quite small but have everything you require and our shower was heavenly the refuel café where you have breakfast is lovely you can sit and look out of the rowing lake which was really nice and calming on a sunday morning. the young man that served in the refuel bar was happy cheerful and nothing was too much trouble from him, lovely cooked breakfast with latte and some toast just what we needed before we set off in Nottingham for some sight seeing and shopping as it was a sunday we got the bus into Nottingham which stops right outside sport centre as two adults travelling together got return fare of £4.50 for both of us , journey is about 10 minutes , you will require right money as they don't give change as money goes straight into a machine, last bus back is just before 6

"A one night stay"
I booked two rooms for a one night stay with my parents. I booked a disabled twin bed room for them and it was perfect for their needs. Also a great location if you want the city centre or Nottingham Arts Theatre. Attached to the hotel is a trendy bar and Starbucks so a fabulous after show bar to go to!

"Mid-renovation"
The room was lovely but the entrance and corridors were mid-way through renovation when I stayed. The staff were helpful and it didn't interfere with my visit. The location is perfect for a stop on the way to/from a business trip.

"Excellent hotel"
Lovely hotel, staff extremely polite and helpful. Room was clean and well laid out. Only niggle was that you had to contact reception to get the Wi-Fi password and as there was a wedding reception on they were very busy and we didn't have the time to wait around. (Phone line to reception was also busy). Our overall experience was relaxing and stress free which is what you want from a weekend break.

    Nottingham Yesterday

Nottingham is steeped in history. Nottingham Castle was the first Norman Castle to be built in 1067 by William the Conqueror. In 1194, the castle was sieged by Richard the Lionheart and in 1485, Richard III left the castle to ride to Bosworth where he became the last English King to die in battle. In 1878, after being derelict for 40 years, the castle was reopened as a museum and art gallery. If you can manage to take time out from your busy schedule, this magnificent castle and artefacts within is well worth a visit. Feel like a king in a conference centre hotel, see how they once lived by visiting the castle.
