Disappointing - very noisy room with whirring machine sound outside the window, with a window that had no catch to close it with, boiling hot too, room had air con but that added to the noise. Ear plugs were provided so I think the hotel must have been aware of the noise issue. I always sleep with ear plugs in but could still hear a lot of noise so barely slept. Hairdryer didn’t work at all. Was out late and up early so didn’t report all this to reception / miss out on even more sleep potentially changing rooms or sorting it all out. Its just disappointing to stay in a room with so much wrong with it, hotel should be checking all this stuff is maintained. Also originally booked a room for 2, ended up being the only one staying but still the bed was a small double which would have been very cramped for 2!

Dear guest, Thank you so much for your review. May I firstly apologize for the noise you experienced. I am very sorry to hear that the external noise caused such a disturbing experience. We provide ear plugs in all bedrooms at Mercure Nottingham due to the very central location of the hotel. I am also sorry you found the AC to have been too noisy for you. There are various fan speeds that can be chosen, a lower fan speed will certainly have been quieter. We did also check the hairdryer and found it to be in full working order. The top button (safety button) does need to be held in while using the hairdryer. There is a note next to the hairdryer bag explaining this. I am very sorry we did not have the opportunity to assist with this issue at the time. If called we would have also been delighted to have explained this to you. We have various rooms at Mercure Nottingham. Our City Pad rooms are very small and therefore priced as the lowest of all categories. I highly recommend Privilege rooms or Suites for any guest who wishes to take advantage of a larger free space. Staff very pleasant and check in was quick. Little bar attached to the hotel and very central to other bars and restaurants

Room decor was fun and quirky, bed was comfy and bathroom was clean, it was definitely a shame the A/C was broken during our stay.. we were given a fan but it was a hot night and the fan didn’t make a difference so had a very hot uncomfortable night unfortunately.

The room was great, however the actual bathroom didn't really match up to the standards. Shower head seemed it be dirty. View wasn't great either, was blocked by a ledge, where pigeons were roosting. Other than that everything was perfect.
