When we first arrived we were greeted by friendly faces and dealt with straight away.We were taken to room and given detail's about our stay and breakfast details.Key for room door and also external key in case late back from wedding.

Anniversary visit
Room was very nice. Menu was limited to our taste fromnlast year which was delicious. The cost of the food was very expensive. The breakfast was really nasty in taste

It 'sparkled' Restaurant portions large, Breakfast excellent, including kippers! Staff excellent. Room newly modernised, only issues no lift, but mentioned on website and shower did not have non-slip tray, otherwise excellent allround

First time visit to the Plough and was very impressed. Check in was very easy and very friendly staff. Evening meal was delicious and breakfast tasty and plentiful. Would definitely return.

Huge menu!
Excellent selection of food in the restaurant and a good breakfast. Rooms are spacious and fairly comfortable. Would have preferred a firmer mattress but perhaps thats just me. Shower needs updating as lacking power and heat was fluctuating a lot.

Lovely hotel and excellent service. All very smooth from check in to check out. You do get a bit of road noise in the rooms facing that way but I’m a light sleeper.

Lovely overnight stay. Staff friendly and breakfast delicious. Quite steep stairs to bedrooms so not ideal if infirm. Bedroom and bathroom lovely and clean.

Great stay we had a newly refurbished and decorated room, spotlessly clean, everybody was really helpful and friendly and we had a great dinner and breakfast.

Very welcoming.
The whole building had been redecorated inside and had only just re-opened. Therefore everything was clean and tidy and in good order. Our bedroom had a new en suite shower room which was first class. There was also a very comfortable bed, a large wardrobe/cupboard for clothes and suitcases, tea making facilities, a modern TV and a couple of easy chairs. The only downside was that the room was a little small. Breakfast and dinner were served in the downstairs bar and dining room which was obviously popular with the locals as it was always busy. The food was very good, with a wide menu and not over-priced. The local real ale was an added benefit. The proprietor and staff were always friendly and attentive. There was ample on-site parking and a separate door for guests (once booked in) which avoided having to go through the bars. The only negative aspect was that all the bedrooms are on the first floor and access is via a narrow and fairly steep staircase. Anyone with mobility problems would have a problem. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a good country inn. We would certainly go back to visit if we were in the area, if only to try another of the splendid home-made pies.
