Nice hotel but parking is expensive.

The hotel is nice but expensive. I don't mind paying more for a nice hotel but $47/night for parking PLUS $8.50 in parking TAXES???? Outrageous and a wrip off. Would not go back. Parking should be included in the price.

The hotel staff was very hospitable especially Sarah who worked st the front desk. The rooms are spacious, clean and well kept. The hotel has a fun vibe and is centrally located to many attractions.

GOOD LOCATION, FRIENDLY, NEEDS RENOVATIONS

Pros: It was centrally located, the beds were comfortable, very friendly and accomodating staff.
Cons: the place is dated and can use a renovation. the carpets need to be replaced and the rooms can use a new paint job as bathrooms are way too small .
Location: Centrally Located , walking distance to the White House and other attractions.
The Hotel Staff was very friendly. The location was ideal however there were small but important things that would keep me from returning. For Instance. The room was neat but not very clean. The carpets could use a shampoo, the tv remote was dusty, the bathroom was very dated , caulking around the tub needed to be redone. The bathroom was extremely small. No counter space for makeup or toiletries and quite claustrophobic! The shampoo and liquid soap provided were attached to the wall in the shower in a pump style dispenser. I got the feeling that that soap had been there for a long time . Not good. The closet wasn't clean. I kept my clothes in my luggage the whole time. On the other hand, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. It wasn't horrible but I was expecting more from Kimpton.

My reservation wasn't available.

This is my first time writing a review. Let's make it short and simple. As the title indicates, my reservation wasn't available even though I booked a month ago. The front desk said all the room is booked, but they have only 1 room available with 2 beds. I originally reserved king bed with a bunk bed for my kids - i have 3 kids) Even though they admit their fault, they didn't offer me any discount downgrading my reservation. The staff said they will send me snacks which supposed to come along with my reservation, but they just ignored it. I requested once again with another staff, but they still didn't bring it to us. My family was so tired walking around DC all day long and my children fell asleep early that night. As soon as we turned off the TV, I and my wife realized that there was too much noise from outside. I thought the window was opened; however, all the windows were closed. I and my wife couldn't sleep that night at all. My family traveling around often and we never have a room like this before. We spent over $250 room and the service like this. Is there any way to get the refund since our room wasn't available?

Nice, clean and location!

Overall the hotel was great. We arrived early in the morning and our room was ready! Which was very nice given we had an overnight flight so we were very tired. The only thing was that our shower wouldn’t drain properly when we arrived. However, a quick call to front desk got someone up to our room to fix it. Staff was very friendly and helpful, clean and nice rooms as well as great location for sight seeing. It was just a 10 min walk to the White House, 15 to the national mall.

Excellent staff, comfy beds, kitschy vibe

Old building, Needs maintenance- windows in room wouldn't close all the way or lock. Street noise pollution as result. Housekeeping staff didn't take used dishes for two of my four days. Thought that was odd. Bar is quaint, generous pours. Staff is exceptionally friendly

Excellent Hotel!

Location: The neighborhood is very trendy and we always felt safe (day or night). Almost everything was in walking distance.
We love boutique hotels and this was definitely one the most beautifully decorated. Our room was large and very comfortable. The cleaning staff were on the ball.

The Rouge's location makes it a great place to use as a home base as you sight see and tour Washington, DC.

Good hotel for traveling families!

Good location and great place for families. Our kids really enjoyed the bunk beds and video game console. Staff was helpful with directions to attractions and restaurants. Used the valet parking and we were happy that the car was in a locked garage.
