I was checked into a physically disabled room although I am not disabled in any way whatsoever. The bathroom was filthy, and the the toilet bowl stained from poor hygiene. The TV didn't work properly mostly giving a "weak signal" screen, and the telephone was faulty. The room in general was of a very poor standard. The staff were unhelpful and sloppy with their personal hygiene clearly lacking. At one point, I believed I was receiving bad treatment because I was an Expedia-booked guest.
I stay in many hotels on a regular basis, and this must be the worst experience I have ever had. British hotels are generally of a poor standard (even 5-star ones) compared with other hotels around the globe, but this one was by far the worst experience.
