This hotel could be great. Modern, clean, free parking but the rooms are just too hot. Second time this year and it's like a sauna in the rooms. Staff told me there is a problem with the pipework in the risers giving out too much heat but surely this could be fixed by better pipe insulation. Won't be staying again.

Hotel room very good size, mattress a little thin but OK for one night. Main fault with the Hotel is the heating. It was March and outside temps were 9 deg c, yet the room (with no heating on) was unbearable and we had to have the fan on all night.

Lovely staff but breakfast and rooms weren’t good
Lovely staff with very welcoming attitude helped us book an extra night in our same room for a good price. The hotel on the whole didn’t offer good value for money. Our room was pretty basic with a bad smell and stains on the carpet and furniture. The mugs also had coffee on them which I was able to wash off with the water in the bathroom. We paid for the breakfast where the cheese slices were very dry and meat had a gooey sheen to the surface. I picked up a croissant and when I picked it up to have a bite there was old oven grease and something burnt that was stuck to the bottom of the croissant as if they had been put on a dirty tray or oven without any tray. It would be okay for £30 off the price but I would say you get better value in a travel lodge or premier inn.

Some thoughts
Friendly and very helpful staff. Room was nice as expected. Some stains on the carpet in the room. Would suggest the beds are looked at as could feel all the springs in the mattress. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Less than ideal stay. Nice area though.
Booking said VIP offer of 1 free drink - nothing mentioned or offer by the hotel staff. Room was close to other accommodation and could hear noise from street level all night long. Bathroom light was on motion sensor and a long timer meaning the hum of the extractor was on for about 15 minutes. Light from the corridor lit up the bedroom all night long. Less than ideal stay.

Here is an exceptional place to stay on a visit to Northampton. Im glad i chose it.its worth the cost.The staff are professional and courteous. The environment is neat and cosy

Firstly I didn’t receive an email providing information about arrival. I therefore was unaware that I had to get to car park 3. Once I called the hotel to ask which car park to park in, the receptionist was unable to direct me to the car park. I had to ask another driver instead. The bed was not very comfortable at all and there was no handwash by the sink in the bathroom so I had to use the soap in the shower to wash my hands. The most disappointing part of the stay was the noise coming from outside in the early hours. I was unaware that this hotel was based within a university campus. I also felt uneasy walking from the car to the hotel due to the amount of young people hanging around with hoods up in large groups.

Think twice
Finding parking was a nightmare, need to tell people you need to be in parking area 3. Beds like concrete, no meals, drinks or breakfast in hotel, have to go to university student restaurant or local convenience store. Hearing on full Wack, pleased fan in room. Only window restrictor was disconnected, so would have been way to jump out of third floor window.

Great hotel very clean and tidy
The service was great couldn’t figure out where to park and the reception were very friendly when I rang for directions, very welcoming on arrival made sure we understood everything and was very friendly! The only downside was it was just so hot and without aircon the room was unbearable, there was a fan provided but this just blew the hot air around the room this isn’t the hotels fault they can’t control the weather but it was just too hot to stay the night! The reception was nice and cool and welcoming but as soon as we got out the lift on the 3rd floor it was like opening an oven ! I would defiantly stay again but il check the weather first !

Terrible experience
Extremely poor and stressful experience. I was charged 2x, and has been a nightmare to get it refunded (someone called me asking my cards details - what I refused to give - God knows who I would be giving it for, then asked if I could go in person there - 4hrs after I checkout!). I wasted 20 min in the phone with hotels.com early in the morning trying to have it sorted. During the checkout it was said I would have it sorted in the following day and I didn't need to be worried/do anything else. The walls were full of stains, as the the linen. The bed it's really uncomfortable. People yelling in the corridors up to around midnight. Car park it's quite distant. No VIP room upgraded and drinks were mentioned/offered (as part of Hotel.com rewards and promised in the booking). I booked it to sleepover before an important exam in the uni (and save me to drive early morning), but if I knew all the stress, I would sleep in my comfortable bed and be stress free. If you want a comfortable place to stay and no free trouble, book another place.

Defo not a 4 star hotel. Avoid
Staff were nice. However room was so hot it was unbearable. We did book for 4 nights but cancelled after the 1st night. No fan provided and bed was about as comfortable as a claymore mine. It can imagine the rooms to be a health risk in the summer as it was just way too hot. God knows how this is listed as a 4 star. It's defo a 2 and possibly 3. But certainly not a 4 star hotel. The Radisson in the town centre is a 4 star. The sunley is certainly not

Clean place to stay But so noisy. People having full LOUD conversations in the corridor late at night. The automatic bathroom lights and fan stay on for half an hour. That fan is the most noisy in the world 2 nights stopping there and didn’t get any decent sleep

Close to the town centre. Looking very new. Good equipment in the room. Didn't like the poorly working radiator. Reported to the reception staff but coming back later nothing had been done and the radiator was cold. Also don't like the automatic very bright light in the toilet with the very loud fan.

Clean and comfy but don't expect sleep
Clean tidy and modern but what is not advertised is that you're literally amongst the student accommodation. Parties until 5:30am on the night I stayed. Never again.
