Good hotel for A1 access

Posted 28-Dec-2016
Pros: The location.
Cons: They need to improve the way they deal with complaints, they could of offered us a room swap, which would have been better then the free drink vouchers
Location: Good access to A1
The hotel it's self was clean and the food for breakfast was a good selection, we had a couple of bar meals the menu choices were poor but the food was well cooked. We had three terrible nights sleep ,due to what sounded like a generator ,our room was at the back of the hotel room 109,we mentioned this to front desk receptionist, who advised she would get her manager to look into this, we got no feedback at all from her manager when asked we got told it had been entered into the book and were given 2 vouchers for a free drink at the bar.We could not wait to get home to get some sleep, this really did spoil our Christmas break with our family,as we were so tried.

Good hotel in convenient location

Posted 03-Dec-2016
Pros: Location. Excellent breakfast. Good pool
Cons: Could have done with a bit more written information in the room on hotel facilities and opening times.
Location: Richmond is 10 minutes drive. Went to the cinema at The Station, a really nice arts centre. Very pleasant riverside walk.
This was a great location for a weekend visit. Easy to get to as literally just off the A1. Close to Richmond and the Dales, County Durham and even The North Yorkshire Moors. Very welcoming staff after a frustrating long delay on the A1. We spent the weekend visiting various towns and villages and had a great walk on each day.

Holiday Inn Darlington - A1 Scotch Corner

Posted 01-Dec-2016
Pros: Convenient place to break a journey on the A1
Cons: Just wish the bar meal menu had had a little more choice.
Location: Ideally situated on A1, not far from Darlington and Richmond, North Yorkshire.
Everything was in order and to our liking, the room was warm and comfortable.

Location: great central location.
Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable and modern room (executive room) Good food and room service, good portion sizes. All reasonably priced. Best hotel stayed in for a long time. Made to feel very welcome. Staff were amazing.

Better than expected.

Clean modern rooms, and best of all came with a mini fridge. Breakfast also excellent, help yourself and plenty of variety. Good value for what I paid.
