Peaceful retreat with a view

Posted 14-Jul-2017
Pros: Quiet, homely, friendly, clean and comfortable. Good value for money. There is a spiritual centre on site offering mid-week healing if requested. .
Cons: Breakfast is quite late for early risers but when we heard the young lady who waits at breakfast sets off to travel an hour to do it, we understood.
Location: Set on a hill not far out of Scarborough with lovely views from the conservatory/garden. Coast to explore Whitby/Scarborough/Filey or the Dales.
We had a lovely 3 days away here and it is close to coast or Dales. Had a great drive through Dalby Forest to their Visitor Centre (a toll road but worth it). Good village pub in Burniston open all day for plentiful meals, friendly staff (3 Jolly Sailors). Harmony House is a peaceful spiritual B&B, but if a B&B is all you need there is no push to be involved in the spiritual side. Healing is offered mid-week if requested. Tony, our host, has many stories to tell - he was a Champion Side-car Racer and received an MBE for services to sport. His tropies and photos adorn the guest sitting area. We will return!

So calm

Posted 03-Jul-2017
Pros: The grounds & the views.
Harmony Lodge is an quirky, calming and beautiful place to stay. Where else would you find a church in the grounds? The grounds, the view & the owners & staff could not have been more helpful. We're looking for a reason to return.

Kids under 7 may be here due to interenet sites

Posted 10-Apr-2017 on Hotels
We arrived relaxed looking forward to a relaxing 2 days as this place is advertised as no children under 7 . escape from kids ideal place! however due to web sites including hotels.com we had a 3 year old in the next room and 2 boys in the caravan in front of our window running around playing with a ball .This was a shock as the hole idea of booking this place was to get complete piece. We complained to the owner Tony who said sorry but they had turned up with kids as the web sites let them book with a under 7 child , he could not turn them away , we was not very happy and went out till after 9 to get some piece . We did have a comfortable bed and was pleased with breakfast but are now put off due to kids being allowed at this place. Should be child free. those with kids have plenty of places to go that are nice family friendly places.

Quirky, unusual but very nice.

Posted 07-Nov-2016 on Hotels
Lovely location, nice hosts, breakfast nice but could have been more in the fried english breakfast, but after all i am a bit of a glutton. The room was an unusual shape due to the upstairs of the property being circular, but thats not a complaint, it comes accross as being quite quirky. All in all it was a lovely stay and i would gladly stay again, so, highly recomended.

2Berth Caravan at the back of the owners property with Fabulous views from the lounge, spotlessly clean, an old Caravan but well looked after, ideal for a short stay away from the hussle and bussle and a short drive to Scarborough or Whitby, Tony the host is a lovely chap and if you need anything just ask, we would reccomend

Weekend away with friends

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Location: The lodge is between Scarborough and Whitby which is perfect if like us you love the North Yorkshire coast. In the Village there are a couple of pubs.
From the road looks a beautiful place and it didn't disappoint when we entered through the conservatory into house. When we got to our room the first thing that hits you is the stunning view from the bedroom window. Although the rooms are an odd shape due to the house being an Octagonal shape and a little cramped it was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was lovely and had plenty of choice. The staff and owners were very friendly and welcoming. This made our weekend all the better as we where visiting fiends in the village and would probably stay again.
