Nice Hotel let down by too much noise

Posted 03-May-2016
Pros: The location, the layout of the room, the breakfast.
Cons: Deliveries right outside the rooms very early in the Morning. The noisy banging of doors in the corridors.
Location: York is a great City and we visit very often with lots of things to do and see
First impressions are of a very nice Hotel with modern styling and very close to the Centre of York and in a very good position. Breakfast was nice too. Did not sleep well as the noise from anyone entering their room during the night echos. We stayed in a ground floor room and was woken first at 05.30am by the bin Men and secondly by a delivery vehicle at 06.00am which parked right outside our window in the car park. We then had to listen for 30 minutes has he made his delivery, which I appreciate is important, but why not park a little further away than just out side our room window?. When I mentioned this on checkout, the girl just said " I am sorry but we need to have deliveries made" and was quite dismissive. Dare say if I would have stayed higher up, my experience would have been better.

Good and lovely location near to centre. We had a lovely time walking around everywhere and the breakfast was amazing specially with takeaway tea/coffee options.

Great place to stay

We stayed here on an overnight trip to York. The hotel was in a very central location with easy access to the train station and the city centre. The breakfast buffet included hot made to order food and had great variety for both adults and children.

Ideal, quiet and safe location in the heart of York. Great breakfast, very nice room, short walk to railway station and perfect location for a visit to the National Railway Museum. Hotel is fully wheelchair accessible throughout. Highly recommend.

Comfortable and clean

Very welcoming on arrival. Room clean and tidy and spacious even with double sofa bed set up for our son. Easy to find your way around. Good parking facilities in nearby car park with discount for been hotel guest. Snacks available which is always good when travelling with children and bar reasonably priced. Our room was above bar area and not noisy at all. Breakfast had a fantastic choice with gluten free bread. Great stay.

Lovely hotel right near the centre

Absolutely lovely hotel, 10 minute walk from the centre and close to plenty of restaurants. Set in a quiet bit of the city. Room was clean and well kept. Only criticism is that the bed was a bit hard.
