We had a wonderful stay. The hosts are lovely and the town is quaint and quiet. We got a wonderful dinner recommendation for a nearby town and did a great walk along a public path to get there.

Great place for a getaway break
A lovely guest house in a beautiful picture postcard village on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Very friendly and helpful owners. I had one of the spacious outhouse rooms with my own front door straight from the car park which was great. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast.

We had a good stay but we had to turn the radiator up as the room was cold and they don't do food apart from breakfast so we had to go elsewhere for a meal.

Amazing room with four poster bed and bath looking over garden. Stunning view over brook at sunrise. Tea tray, fresh bottled water, biscuits and hand made chocolates in room. Lovely soft bedding and towels with extra toiletries for guests (make up remover, cotton buds, etc) Generous breakfast including juices, cereals, yoghurts, full English which was delicious.

This lovely guesthouse is in a stunning location however this cannot really be described as a York guesthouse as it is quite a drive away.

Excellent experience, lovely hosts - Lesley and Stuart - who took care of our requests and welcomed us in their beautiful home. Great location, excellent breakfast and convenient parking, nice atmosphere, big room with a view, quaint garden. Most recommended!

Great Stay!
Great stay, good location for exploring the moors and coast. Lesley and Stuart are both very attentive and provided a lovely breakfast each morning. The chocolates in the room were also a lovely touch. The room was very clean and comfortable and the owners have done everything they can to make it Covid safe.

This was our second stay at Burnley House and it won't be our last.Lovely room,spot on breakfast and fantastic hosts.Our only suggestion would be having a plug in fan in the rooms.It was so hot at night we bought one after the first night.

Delightful Stay
Nothing was too much trouble. The hosts are fantastic, the breakfast was beautifully cooked and the room was lovely. Hate giving good reveiws in case we have trouble getting back in at our preferred places - but this was outstanding!

Greeted with delicious homemade cake and cup of tea. Comfortable room (Ryedale) with 4 poster bed. There is a little road noise but quiet at night. Lovely breakfast which set us up for the day.

Our visit was relaxing and enjoyable. Although the weather wasn’t great, there are great walks close by (even though we get lost). Welcome coffee and cake on arrival. Breakfast was great with a very good selection of fruits, cereals and cooked to order options. Our hosts were friendly and offered good local information. The local pub has good food and ales. The Birds of Prey is an awesome visit, especially the aerial show.

Beautiful village with matching guest house.
Excellent clean and welcoming.Lesley and Stuart make you feel so welcome. The room we had was large and clean. Breakfast was very well presented and cooked. For Lunch or Evening meal The Crown pub is a 2 minute walk away.

Home from Home.
Our stay at Burnley House was second to none. The owners are attentive, genuinely warm people who gave us a first class get-away experience.The atmosphere was home from home with a warm log fire in a comfortable well presented lounge. The dining room was immaculately presented with an extensive and fresh range of food choices for breakfast. The bedroom was again immaculately presented, clean, warm and inviting with a larger than average en-suite.Owners local knowledge was also useful to us. Have stayed in places that have cost more but haven't been as good. Would highly recommend this venue. A nice quite place to stay and get a good night's sleep, but also near enough to a good range of facilities and local towns.

We arrived slightly late at night (9PM). However, owner (wife and husband) are so kind to have heart warming welcome to us Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was amazing. I love to visit this place again some time in summer as well.

Excellent breakfast with locally sourced ingredients. Downstairs room a bit noisy when others walked past so didn't feel that private. No wifi or mobile signal but signal for EE at local pub

A beautiful place to stay in a wonderful village
We were very impressed by our welcome and hospitality during our recent stay at Burnley house. Room was exactly as advertised with superb views of Hutton-le-hole and its stream, sheep and greenery. Very comfortable room. Wonderful breakfast cooked to perfection.
