Lovely hotel.

Lovely hotel. Very clean and comfortable Location a little out of York but drivable distance. Taxi would have been too expensive. Advertise 24 hour room service however as we discovered after a trip out to York with 2 hungry teenagers, there was only sandwiches available as it was after 10pm...we would have stopped on the way back If we had known this. Breakfast was nice and the evening meal in the bar was lovely. A nice place to stay after a day at the GTS Adventures which is based on the hotel grounds.

Basic pleasant hotel good value for money

Posted 31-Dec-2015
Burn Hall hotel is in a quiet village location, 20mins drive from York, peaceful and surrounded by countryside. While not luxurious, it is comfortable and very clean with a nice patio and garden area. The bar/lounge area was comfortable, and the restaurant pleasant. The staff we encountered were professional and friendly and we felt welcome. We paid £53 for a twin room, and thought this good value, given a nearby Travelodge was charging £90 for a room. The room was similar to Travelodge in terms of standard of decor and facilities, but was larger and slightly higher quality. Simple toiletries are provided, plus free WiFi. For the price, we would definitely choose Burn Hall again in preference to Travelodge or similar budget chain. Booking with Expedia was very quick and easy and we definitely got the best price for this hotel.

Generally OK

Overall a nice stay spoilt by the wildlife in the room, firstly the visit from a massive spider followed by his mate the large earwig, both of which freaked my wife out, nice location and room was generally OK although after the wildlife incidents my wife looked under the bed which hadn't been hooved for many years by the look of it.

Burn Hall Hotel - Pleasant

Posted 03-Sep-2015 on Hotels
A stop over for the bank holiday break visiting York and Whitby. A nice hotel and we where on the ground floor rooms which where pleasant and comfortable. Only downside for me was no netting on windows to block out people walking past room to reception from car park. had to close curtains to chill out on bed which where heavy blackout curtains.

Good hotel for a break

Burn Hall was a pleasant and quiet hotel - though rather busy. Staff were efficient and friendly, and the food was excellent. A good place to stay outside of the city of York.
