This is the second time we have booked Ascot House. We came in December and we were so happy with our stay we booked again for our silver wedding anniversary weekend. Again it was a perfect stay. The rooms are beautiful, very clean and a well laden hospitality tray that was replenished during our stay. The breakfast choices are plenty including continental. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We are planning a return visit later this year. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place to stay! So warm, comfortable and not far from the city centre. The breakfast was superb! Will definitely come back again when we are next in the area

Ascot house was a really lovely stay for us. The place itself is beautiful. Room was a good size and bathroom was great too. Lovely staff and hosts. Breakfast was also awesome. Only a 15 min walk into the city centre. Perfect location. Highly recommend.

A Real Gem in York.
Two nights in York and we couldn't have chose a better place to stay. Ascot house was excellent, the décor and furnishings are traditionally English, our room was immaculately clean and very comfortable with a really good recently modernised en-suite bathroom. We were met in reception by the owner who was absolutely charming and made us feel at home straight away Our breakfasts were as good as the rest of the service, with an excellent choice that was beautifully cooked and served really promptly. Overall, probably one of the very best places to stay in York.

It was a fabulous place to stay. Perfect for town. 20mns walk for us but could probably do in 15. We like to stroll. The room was perfect ,shower fantastic and the staff amazing. I'm a coeliac and they looked after me at breakfast really well. The gluten free sausage yummy. Can't thank the staff enough. Would highly recommend staying here.

Off road car parking is very welcome and location is walkable into the city. Very traditional bedrooms with modern ensuite shower rooms. Staff very helpful and the breakfast was one of the best provided for some time. Would recommend

We have stayed at this property before and it never fails to be anything other than excellent on all counts. The breakfast is superb and well deserves its award for best breakfast, the rooms are very good, warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. We checked in early which was not a problem and had a lovely 3 days there.

Best hotel in york
Absolutely amazing hotel. The hotel owner is a lovely lady, hotel room and all areas were spotless. Breakfast was one of the best ever, hotel well placed a short walk to town and a shop across the road for any last bits needed. Best hotel in york and one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in. We will be staying here again without a doubt.

The property, the owner & staff were excellent with service & keeping the property in pleasant condition. The room we had was very clean, well provided, cosy & comfy. Being a loft conversation, I think, though it had skylight windows to light & air the room well, the only thing missing was views of surroundings outside. But, it proved a v quiet room and that for us was more important.

Ascot house is the quintessential English B & B. It was a pleasure to stay there. Aesthetically it’s beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious. The only complaint was the lack of USB charging plugs. The bathroom was completely updated and clean. I would definitely stay there again.

Just got back from a 2 night stay. The staff were lovely, very friendly. Ascot House is beautiful, very ‘oldy worldly’ with oodles of character and spotlessly clean. The room was very comfortable and the bed comfy the room has everything you need. Breakfast was plentiful with a good range to choose from and all cooked fresh. It’s a 15 minute walk to the town centre and all that York has to offer. Would definitely stay here again.
