A nice retreat.Put this B&B address into the Sat Nav and go with it. The address we had was, Main Street, Pickering, when in fact the Sat Nav will lead you to Lockton, a small village 10 mins out of Pickering on the Whitby Road. When we arrived we thought we had the wrong address, ie; Hotel, Main Road, Pickering ...

Lovely family roomWhat a treat to have a spacious en-suite family room with two proper single beds for the children instead of bunk beds. The location of the hotel was also excellent with just a short stroll into town or the Spa theatre for the evening show. Will definately stay here again next time we are in ...

Lovers of the great outdoors flock to England's northern counties throughout the year, in search of some impressive sights. Among the favourite destinations for adventure sport holidays in the United Kingdom is North Yorkshire, the country's largest county and one of the most beautiful. Whether you're going on holiday for some gentle walking or some high octane extreme sports, there are plenty of adventure sport hotels in North Yorkshire to put a smile on your face.

Walking on the Moors

The Yorkshire Moors sit among Britain's most famous National Parks. An idyllic picture in the summer months and a unique and mysterious landscape in the winter, this part of North Yorkshire makes for an excellent walking destination all year round.

As you'd expect, the National Park is peppered with exquisite hotels and guesthouses. Those keen to explore the area on foot are often on the lookout for a small, simple and welcoming B&B to help them rest and recover at night.

Sawdon Heights is a perfect country resting place. Surrounded by countryside, it's an ideal place for keen ramblers. Guests can also expect a hearty breakfast to help fuel them throughout their day.

Spy the Beauty From Above

Yorkshire is blessed with such an abundance of natural beauty, it can be hard to take it all in. One way for adventurous visitors to enjoy the beauty is to get up high. There are a number of companies in North Yorkshire offering the opportunity to skydive or paraglide. Both are fine ways to see the extent of the county's gorgeous countryside.

Don't Forget the Coastline

When most of us think of North Yorkshire, the images we conjure are of rolling hills, green moors and cascading waterfalls. It's easy to forget the county actually features a stunning coastline.

The Cliffemount Hotel is a thre-star property located in Runswick Bay. The hotel offers incredible views out across the beautiful horseshoe bay. There are plenty of lengthy coastal walks in the area and the summer months are great for swimming. The hotel also provides ample free parking, which is ideal for guests keen to explore the rest of the county.
