"Beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting "
Stayed for two nights, staff very friendly and accommodating. Hotel beautiful and clean. I had pre booked champagne for the room which wasn't there on arrival which was disappointing as it was a surprise for my partner. Breakfast very good and service excellent. There had been some work carried out on the bathroom door and the wood shavings were on the floor and the door, this was not cleaned whilst we stayed there. Would recommend this hotel

"Wonderful!"
A most beautiful Georgian home in a fantastic location, with wonderful hosts and a great breakfast (and slice of banana cake and fruit cake!). We had such a lovely weekend and Michael and Dawn really went the extra mile in making sure we did! We will definitely be back!

"Park like gardens close to seaside"
Stayed at the Keep, rooms do not have carpet, possibly because of the pet-friendly policy. Dined at the main hall. Superb restaurant. Polite, friendly and helpful staff.

"Absolutely hilarious! "
We had a riot at the grand, initially attracted to it by the fact that it looked a bit like the titanic (where it did not disappoint!). Unfortunately there were a few issues with our stay, nothing major but we generally had the feeling that although staff were lovely and helpful, no one really seemed to have a clue what was going on! Something we found charming and funny but could be frustrating if you were actually in a rush to get things done.

"Bob on for the price!"
Ideal if you're going to the Open Air Theatre. 5 minute walk to Peasholme Park and North Bay. It's not the Ritz, it is what it is for the price. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The owner was very helpful and the breakfast which is served at The Toast Box cafe, just a stones throw up the street, was spot on. Would definitely stay here again.

One of the best bed and breakfast breaks. Our room number 3 was beautiful, bed very comfortable with a fabulous en-suite. Breakfast could not be faulted something for all tastes. Scones cooked fresh that morning were a tasty treat. Breakfast room was light and airy not overcrowded. The owners are lovely people.

Pocket Guide: Adventure Sport Hotels in North Yorkshire

Lovers of the great outdoors flock to England's northern counties throughout the year, in search of some impressive sights. Among the favourite destinations for adventure sport holidays in the United Kingdom is North Yorkshire, the country's largest county and one of the most beautiful. Whether you're going on holiday for some gentle walking or some high octane extreme sports, there are plenty of adventure sport hotels in North Yorkshire to put a smile on your face.

    Walking on the Moors

The Yorkshire Moors sit among Britain's most famous National Parks. An idyllic picture in the summer months and a unique and mysterious landscape in the winter, this part of North Yorkshire makes for an excellent walking destination all year round.

As you'd expect, the National Park is peppered with exquisite hotels and guesthouses. Those keen to explore the area on foot are often on the lookout for a small, simple and welcoming B&B to help them rest and recover at night.

Sawdon Heights is a perfect country resting place. Surrounded by countryside, it's an ideal place for keen ramblers. Guests can also expect a hearty breakfast to help fuel them throughout their day.

    Spy the Beauty From Above

Yorkshire is blessed with such an abundance of natural beauty, it can be hard to take it all in. One way for adventurous visitors to enjoy the beauty is to get up high. There are a number of companies in North Yorkshire offering the opportunity to skydive or paraglide. Both are fine ways to see the extent of the county's gorgeous countryside.

    Don't Forget the Coastline

When most of us think of North Yorkshire, the images we conjure are of rolling hills, green moors and cascading waterfalls. It's easy to forget the county actually features a stunning coastline.

The Cliffemount Hotel is a thre-star property located in Runswick Bay. The hotel offers incredible views out across the beautiful horseshoe bay. There are plenty of lengthy coastal walks in the area and the summer months are great for swimming. The hotel also provides ample free parking, which is ideal for guests keen to explore the rest of the county.
