"Hotel well located. Check in friendly and an added bonus that we were upgraded. Staff very helpful and room great, although view of car park a little disappointing for a suite. Leisure facilities very clean and well managed. Would definitely stay here again."

The Minster Hotel York

The Minster Hotel York

8/10 Good
"Excellent family-run hotel; fantastic location right near the Minster and in the heart of the Old Town. Stumbling distance from every pub in town Staff were very nice throughout - in fact I wondered if they were for real - they were. Our rooms were brand new. No AC but that's a British thing, I think. Plumbing worked though! The fried breakfasts are huge but there are plenty of other healthy options. The breakfast room itself is in the older part and needs a little TLC but that is a minor observation. A perfect hotel for families and couples.PS. I often felt I was in the middle of an Alan Bennett play because the place felt so nostalgic, in a good way."

The Queens Hotel & Victoria Cloisters

The Queens Hotel & Victoria Cloisters

10/10 Excellent
"We had a great time here, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean and comfortable. The hide a bed of course was very springy but that’s to be expected with a hide a bed haha. The only problems we had were the lack of drip coffee pot since we aren’t espresso drinkers, which the house keeper said she was in the process of getting them in the rooms. Our other problem was my fault for not requesting a lower floor when booking the room, we were up on the second floor and had lots of luggage so I had to haul it all up and down. So if you don’t do stairs well or will have lots of luggage, make sure you stay in the hotel or request a lower floor in the cloisters. The location is great since it’s off the Main Street it’s not too loud at night but it’s still nice and close to the bridge to go into the centre of town. I would definitely come stay here again if I’m back in York."

Goodramgate Apartments

Goodramgate Apartments

8/10 Good
"Location is superb. Apartment is clean, spacious enough for 2/3 and the bedroom / bathroom are excellent. Only issue with the room is it is right on the street and the security could be a little better, just one catch on the door and no deadlock which I would've preferred with teenage daughter on the sofa bed. Sofa bed mattress not the best. I would stay here again in a heartbeat though for the location and the price. Exceptional value for what you get with kitchen and lounge. Hands down better than a hotel. Not an issue but something to note - Comms are a bit clunky as they go through Hotels.com portal and notifications were dropping into my spam file and then I couldn't get into the app. Someone was on hand to assist though luckily and they were very helpful. Key is in lockbox with instructions required."

Grays Court

10/10 Excellent
"This is a beautiful and historic place in close proximity to the York Minster, Roman wall, Shambles, and city centre. Every staff member was friendly and accommodating. It was evident that they take pride in their work and the inn. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner options and both were excellent. If you are looking to experience a historic inn close to York’s major attractions, please check out Grays Court."
