Lovely grounds, a little bit dated but very clean and homely, and the staff couldn't do enough for you :o) Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again :o)

Family run hotel near Norfolk Broads.

Posted 04-Aug-2015
Pros: Proprietors worked hard at extra little details which raised the standard of the hotel.
Cons: Evening menu was 3 course table d'hote or a la carte. Could have offered table d'hote as 2 or 3 courses more suitable for older people.
Location: Perfectly placed for Norfolk Broads. RAF radar museum nearby worth a visit.
I think this was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Spotless. Family run and real effort made to make best of what they had. Beds were dressed like 4 star large hotels. Excellent value for money. Food very tasty and plenty of it. Couldn't fault it.

Pleasant Hotel

Posted 09-Jul-2015
Cons: See comments re the dinning room.
One night stay, pleasant staff, room clean, food very good had an evening meal and breakfast. Main disappointment was the dining area. The room was not a suitable eating area and dampened the overall impression of the hotel stay.

Country Hotel near Norwich

Posted 18-May-2015
Pros: comfortable rooms, good food
Cons: It could have a sitting room with windows overlooking the garden
Location: It stands alone, nowhere the village, but is ideal for visiting Norwich and the Broads and fairly near a Park and Ride
As usual,a good experience which is why we keep going

Excellent hotel close to Norwich

Posted 05-Apr-2015
Pros: Nothing was too much bother for the staff
We were looking for an independent hotel that was pet friendly, close to Norwich. The Old Rectory is an excellent hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights there. The staff were welcoming to us and Benji our dog. There is a reasonable sized woodland area across the main road from the hotel to walk dogs and any number of destinations to explore within a short car journey from the hotel (we had several trips to the seaside which is only 20 or so minutes away - Norwich is even closer but in the opposite direction). The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a view out to the well set out gardens. The shower in the bathroom was powerful and hot! All the facilities are on the ground level. We recommend the cooked breakfast!

Pleasant hotel situated just outside Norwich

Posted 03-Apr-2015
My wife and I stayed two nights at this compact and pleasantly situated hotel a short distance from Norwich. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. The room was a reasonable size with a large and comfortable double bed. We dined in the restaurant the first night and felt the food was excellent, and although there was an 80th Birthday celebration going on in another dining room we were adequately looked after. Breakfast was most enjoyable with a full variety of food available There is amble parking and we would certainly stay there again.

Pleasant stay but hotel almost empty , thus no one else in the dining room Staff doing their best and were chatty, welcoming and helpful. The Club event was a success even though the food was overpriced..

Quiet friendly hotel in lovely surroundings

Posted 24-Dec-2014
Large clean en-suite room in excellent decorative condition and tastefully furnished. Good heating and plenty of hot water. Very comfortable bed. Friendly helpful staff. Hotel and grounds beautifully presented. Pleasant walks nearby and only a short drive to local towns. Good value for money.
