No hot water to shower

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Location: Huby village pubs do not seem to open on Monday lunchtimes/ afternoons and no food was available in the evening. We visited the birds of prey centre.
Food was excellent ,pity about the officious duty manager who demanded we stand right here as it was his rules.Where or when does one ever get that ,having stayed in 5 star hotels and bed and breakfasts we have never encountered such an individual and the sooner his services are dispensed with the better. The hotel itself and the rest of the staff were good, however not being able to shower at 6 30 am is not acceptableEVEN AFTER LEAVING THE SHOWER RUNNING FOR OVER TEN MINUTES.

We stayed for 2 nights with our two children and were really pleased with the service we received. The staff were lovely, the room comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We were particularly impressed with how well our children with food allergies were catered for.

Pleasant stay

Very pleasant people. Good dinner menu choice at a reasonable price. Breakfast was delicious, good quality bacon. I would have liked to have seen some fresh fruit at breakfast. There was an option of berries that could be ordered but that was all I saw.

Great hotel in great location

Posted 06-Jun-2016
First impressions the nice rural setting that surrounds you, yet, only 5 miles from city centre. Room was very clean & spacious, all staff encountered were polite & friendly. The gardens were a great place to chill out with a cold beer. Breakfast was freshly made & very nice. In a nutshell, would definitely stay here again.

A Rather Lovely Hotel in a delightful setting

Posted 03-May-2016
Pros: It makes you feel relaxed therefore everything
Cons: Couldn't think of anything of any significance
Location: 2 miles from Coltishall 4.5 from Wroxham and the Broads and the same distance from Norwich. If you know Norfolk then nothing is really too far away
Very friendly staff greet you at check in, you may not think that it will be peaceful as the hotel is next to a main road but it is incredibly quiet as all of the rooms are at the back. The rooms are spotlessly clean and everything you open or use is replaced by a brand new one. The hotel smelled clean and of fresh polish in the hallways. The breakfasts are excellent and plentiful with locally sourced bacon, sausage and jams. The location is excellent for almost any destination you are likely to visit....dare I say it there is also an excellent pub where the food is beyond expectation just 0.2 miles away. The hotel has a heated pool and outside bar with striped lawns perfect for a summer's day. As you return at dusk the weeping willow type tree has lights hanging from it. Ample parking takes away any concerns.

Welcoming hotel, convenient for Norwich

Posted 07-Mar-2016
Pros: Spacious and comfortable room; friendly and welcoming staff; well-cooked breakfast to order; nice grounds
Cons: The shower water is very hot but I was warned so not a problem.
Location: Short drive to Norwich and within easy reach of North Norfolk. Very well positioned. It's on the main road but the rooms are not at the front.
I was recognised at reception from my last visit to the hotel 9 months ago, a sign of a good welcome. One night only, wish it could have been more.
