The Grimaldi was an excellent hotel for the one night stay we planned for Nice. Just 12 minutes easy walk from Nice Ville station, we were greeted by very pleasant staff with an offer for free coffee which we needed after our train journey. The room was excellent. Very comfortable bed, very clean room and bathroom and easy access via the old fashioned lift. Super quiet at night. We slept well. Breakfast was more than adequate. Better than many hotels and just the right selection of hot and cold, sweet and savory for our needs. On our departure, we were sent our way by the super cheerful Ellen who is a model of perfect hospitality. We would stay again and recommend to anyone coming to Nice.

Great quiet place!
Viktor is a wonderful manager and was personally attentive. I thought the hotel was in a good, quiet location and the rooms were well appointed. I would definitely stay there again! The breakfast was great and every staff member that I encountered was great.

Four spring days in Nice
The hotel is a small hotel in a quiet street in the centre of Nice, close to the main shoping centre and walkable to the beach, the seafront and old town. No dining facilities but there are Michelin recommended restaurants in the same street. Focused on sustainabiltiy with several in-room ideas for conserving water and energy, most of which also reduce the hotel's costs. Particularly appreciate the replacement of plastic water bottles with self-service filtered water which with which you filll the galls bottles they provide. 'Superior' room was comfortable and pleasanly decorated in tradtional style. We particularly appreciated the comfortable bed. The small bathroom was cramped, required some agility to get in and out of the bathtub and was supplied with only large towel. Our stay was interruped by a fire alarm at 1am, apparently caused by a guest's cigarette but unnecessarily prolonged because no staff member knew how to turn off the alarm. Decoration work was going on in the reception area throughout our stay but only disruptive when the elevator was out of service for 12 hours - happily not when we had to take our baggage up to the third floor.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room we were given was very spacious and charming and they were kind to give us a small bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Staff were most welcoming and knowledgeable. We were upgraded which was a nice surprise. Hotel is a short walk from Tram 2 stop and used it, to get from airport. Also cheap 1.5 euros. Breakfast at hotel was plentiful catering for all tastes. Hotel also close to shops, mall, restaurants, beach and short walk to Old Town.

Very Disappointing Experience
To start, our room was not ready for stated check-in time and we had to wait 50 minutes with a tired 8 month old for our room to be ready. On the other hand our room was upgraded one level from Deluxe to a Suite. The room was ok, nice terrace but it all felt dated. It had 2 bathrooms, strange as they were both cramped and dated. Presentation lazily done, tissue boxes just thrown on top of the tissue dispenser that was on the wall, sealant flaking off the tiles in the shower. We had to run the shower for 15 minutes each morning to get hot water. Our room was never cleaned during our stay. We found out on checkout that this was due to covid and we should ask if we wanted the room cleaned. Why not tell us this on check-in? The worst part when the hotel arranged for our laundry to be done, then never received our clothes back before checking out despite continually asking. The staff, apart from one lady on reception, showed no interest in resolving this. We had to buy new clothes for our baby and we were forced to wear the dirty clothes we had remaining for the last 5 days of our trip in Europe. Management, were completely evasive, never returned calls and showed zero customer service. We were given our breakfasts for free, so saved €100 (which we had to use to buy our baby new clothes) vs the €1,000 we paid for the 4 nights. Management ignored all our messages. A mistake I can accept but lack of customer care in resolving satisfactorily is inexcusable. Very unhappy.

Sir Yatez, We have taken into account your today’s email concerning your stay at the Grimaldi which did not bring you the satisfaction normally their guests get. First of all, we apologize for this inconvenience, we totally understand that it can be very problematic not to get back the clothes you give the pressing away. In fact there has been an issue with the pressing company. They should have brought you’re your clothes in Thursday, but then they did not, then in Friday but they did not either; and then the weekend they were close, so it was impossible for the hotel to contact them again until Monday morning. Believe me, the hotel team, management included, were very disappointing with this delay because their main mission is to make guests happy. They thought that, since you agreed the compensation at the checkout, you understood that it was not their fault. The compensation consisted in taking off of your bill 120€ and of course they organized the shipping of your belongings that you already got. They did not feel that you were so disappointed at the check out time and they thought that you had “forgive them” for your bad experience. As you say in your email you were upgraded at the check in from a Deluxe room to a Suite room with a big terrace facing the rooftops and hills of Nice, the value of this suite is in between 100€ and 200€ per night more expensive than the room that you booked. The director also offered you a free stay for 2 nights with no deadline that you did not accepted. Then, as you were not happy with these compensation, because only a money compensation could calm down the stress you endured during your stay, you threatened him by phone with slandering the hotel in all the platforms you could. And you did. Unfortunately our guest relations policy does not allow us to reimburse any money when we are threatened by guests afterwards. Please accept our apologies again for this issue and if you change your mind and finally you wish to accept our free stay voucher, I will be happy to send it to you.

No soundproofing between rooms
Hotel is well located and I found all the staff to be friendly, professional and attentive. The hotel is clean and they have taken a number of prudent and well designed steps to make the property Covid secure. In many ways a very good hotel, certainly in terms of the individuals who work there. However, a number of rooms have connecting doors and there is no soundproofing between these rooms...I could hear the neighbours brushing their teeth...and a good deal more!

Brilliant stay

An okay stay.
It was okay, nothing special. Staff was okay, room was okay but nothing really pretty or what I was expecting. we were robbed on the street where are car was parked. all our luggage gone. Staff seemed nonchalant about that but gave us a toothbrush and a razor for my husband.

The location of this hotel is handy to anywhere you'd like to visit in Nice. The property is very quaint! The staff extremely pleasant and the lobby is full of charm. Our room was nice, clean and cozy. The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows could be updated.

The welcoming smile was lovely and it set the tone for our short stay. The room was spotless; breakfast was good; nice, free coffee was on tap all day and night sometimes with lovely cakes too. Finally, the location was perfect.
