My stay was excellent, the reason for staying was a funeral and I have to say it was soooo good, our room was brilliant and the view was to die for, it was a totally different reason for staying, but we would definitely go back for a holiday,

Great location. Hotel needs refurbishment. Bathroom was very dirty. Hair from previous occupant, engrained dust on radiator, hair and dust on a plastic container on the vanity unit in the bathroom, a large crack on the shower tiles and shower floor unclean with a hue of pink residue. I asked for the bathroom to be cleaned but unfortunately this did not happen. Room information states that there are blackout blinds and a phone in the room, however these were not so in our room. Venitian blind was broken and therefore not easy to use.

Disappointed
The staff were pleasant however they always seemed to be busy doing more than one job. The hotel itself is very run down and in major need of refurbishment. Likewise furniture needs replacing and updating. Breakfast service finished at 9am and dinner service was a set three course menu with one service that was over by 7.15pm! It felt that everything is run on a budget. We paid £300 for two nights room only. There was nothing to reflect this price.

wow breathtaking view
Stayed at the glendorgal hotel 14/06/2019 Friday to Monday and I must say it was a lovely hotel . Nice and quiet clean and friendly staff . nice English breakfast to start the day of and just sitting there looking out of the window is breathtaking ' right on the sea front. I would recommend this hotel had a great stay there . parking is free and very safe ..

Being out of season the hotel was very quiet but the receptionist on duty couldn't have been more helpful. She recommended local restaurants, served us at the bar and gave plenty of ice when requested. If I had to be negative it would be that the room was cold due to limited timing of the heating system and that the pool although inviting was too cold to use.

A hidden gem.
What a very special place! Obviously the location is a huge part of it. Where else can you look out over a beautiful beach and open sea, especially in its price bracket. On top of that, the seaview rooms, lovely clean and warm. Only down side there was a slightly soft mattress for our personal taste. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Very important for us, was the quietness. At the end of its own access road and only the garden and sea to the front. We intend to recommend this hotel to everyone.

We travel down to Newquay regularly, but have never stayed at the Glendorgal before. After this weekend, we will definitely be staying there again. Although the weather wasn't the best because of the snow!!, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much bother. We walked down on to Porth beach and across to the Mermaid, where they do lovely home cooked food and a fantastic carvery for Sunday lunch. You can't beat it!!

Had the worse nights sleep ever, bed made a terrible noise every thine you move, you could here every movement within the hotel, too hot no window to open, the room was very depressing . £60 a night isn’t expensive but I would never go back.

Very good location, good car parking not to keen on the security of the car park, very poor food, swimming pool not in use du to a whole new boiler required “wasn’t advised when booking” poor venterlatation in room/bathroom. Will not book here again.

Dirty hotel that is in need of a major re-furb. Bed sheets had stains on them, bathroom had lots of missing times on the bath panel. Soap dispensers had mould growing in them. Bar area had cob-webs and dead spiders hanging from them

Nice hotel close to the beach
The hotel was excellent, and close to one of Newquay's wonderful beaches. The hotel though is 20mins walk from the town centre, great if sunny, not so if raining or tired. Buses are intermittent and taxis are best booked ahead of time.

Wonderful location above beautiful beaches! How ever you do need to be a mountain goat to access said beaches!! Very steep rocky access, not advisable for any one with walking difficulties. Hotel it’s self has seen better days, outdated & tired. Outside of rooms/hotel heavily used by smokers everywhere you’ll tred on cigarette butts. Small deck with wooden bench not comfortable for sitting out. We booked the family room, very disappointed, sparsely & poorly decorated uncomfortable bed & pull out sofa. Sadly couldn’t wait to leave.

Room was clean for arrival. Although room was not cleaned or made up with fresh towels during our 3 day stay despite leaving the sign out to be cleaned Hotel pool was not heated and freezing cold as boiler apparently broke in February and had not been fixed Terrible poor quality breakfast at £12 per person for stale toast and limited fruit. Cooked breakfast option was a disappointment Hotel room doors did not closed properly and had to be slammed shut. Had 2 occasions of people walking into our room in the night as the doors did not close properly. Could not find reception staff on a few occasions when looking for them throughout our stay. Basic hotel, room was fine for what we needed but service of hotel staff and facilities let it down- especially for the price. It could be so much better with a few small improvements!!!

A room with a view
The staff were excellent, butmy complaint is with yourselves! I definitely stated ONLY twin beds for my self 80 + my daughter 51 years. Very fortunately l phoned the day before to check and was told wehad a family room- double + small sofa bed. I asked to change to twin, but they were fully booked! I said a family roo:m wasn’t OK. When we arrived they had kindly swoped us into a beautiful twin with sea view. NO thanks to you, who requested any room for two. The breakfast was excellent, the staff were very nice, polite and helpful. We may go again BUT will book direct, as l don’t trust yourselves to bother what people request!,

The hotel accommodation was generally good, based in a lovely location near the beach. We weren’t clear why the bill we received on departure was less than what we had paid upfront which was expensive. We had also assumed wrongly that breakfast was included, although this wasn’t clear from the booking, so we’re surprised we had to pay more for this.

Dog friendly hotel
Good location for travelers with a dog - amazing views for a walks nearby hotel. Room was clean and warm, dog enjoyed the sofa. We had some trouble with balcony doors not locking and in the kettle did not seem to work in the morning - but these were minor flaws for one night stay.

Great position next to beaches
Amazing views, so near to beaches and cliff walks. Relaxing quiet hotel with very helpful friendly staff. Loved the clean & comfortable rooms & large indoor pool. Great can't wait to return.

Small hotel with great views.
The hotel is in a lovely location - the views from the bar / dining room are fabulous. The rooms were large and reasonably comfortable. The bathrooms were good- plenty of hot water. House keeping is a bit hit/miss -although the rooms were ready on arrival, they were rather dusty in places and over our stay, one room had beds, bins and bathroom cleaned but teas/coffees weren't refilled and the other room had no housekeeping at all - not exactly major issues and the lady in the bar was happy to provide a handful of teabags and a jug of milk each day. All the staff seem to multi-task which means that the reception is often unattended but staff can be found easily in the bar area and we found them all really friendly and helpful. Although breakfast is not included in the room rate, we purchased for £10 and had plenty of cereal, fruits and yoghurts, plenty of toast ,which we made ourselves, and a lovely breakfast which was cooked to our individual choices. The morning waitress was particularly attentive and made great suggestions about where to visit and dine. We had the swimming pool to ourselves and found it clean and warm. The gym contained some decent equipment although we didn't use it. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will more than likely return on our next trip to Cornwall.

Beautiful view, but not up to expectations
Anyone booking this hotel should be aware that in periods of low occupancy the restaurant is closed in the evening and sometimes breakfast has to be pre-booked. This is especially important to know if the guest has mobility problems or lack of transport, as the Hotel is quite a substantial walk into the main area of town were all the other restaurants are. Lots of split levels, stairs and precarious steps from the car park to reception would also be difficult for people with limited mobility This was a shame as we were looking forward to eating once more in the conservatory restaurant which has a stunning view of Porth Beach. (This was the main reason we picked this hotel) The staff were very friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable but in need of a simple re-decorate.

Appalling attitude
The venue itself is o.k and the manchester lady and main receptionist were lovely. The downside was the staff member behind the bar who can only be described as having an appalling attitude but for no clear reason. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Shame really as it was this colleague that caused the animosity not only for me but other members of our familiy.

Very nice hotel - incredible view and location. Recommended to ring ahead when using ebookers as there had been confusion over us needing a twin rather than a double but the staff were really kind and helpful and put in an extra bed for us. Lovely room, very clean and well equipped.

Fire alarm kept coming on during evening While trying to sleep When we went to reception following fire instructions we were merely told to ignore it as it had been set off by smoke machine in wedding reception taking place downstairs Still needed to check out by 10 am despite poor night sleep!!

Worst customer service.
It was a really bad experience, hotel was absolutely over rated, the service we received was very rude, we were put into the wrong room and me and my partner ended up sleeping in 2 single beds instead of the double bed we asked for on the our weekend getaway trip which wasn't exactly very romantic and the hotel overall wasn't very clean and the beds were so uncomfortable! When we questioned if we could be moved to a room we asked for the receptionist simply told us "nothing I can do, sorry" and didn't even attempt to help us at all.

Nice clean hotel in a lovely setting. Bar prices were extortionate as was the breakfast price and to be honest the breakfast, although nice, wasn't worth half the price paid. Staff were very happy and helpful. I would stay there again purely for location purposes but next time I will be eating and drinking else where.

Pleasant surprise
Beach front hotel and self catering units are rarely as delightful as this establishment. Staff are few but capable and charming displaying highest standards of service of any hotel at any price. Rooms were basic yet not disagreeable so especially when considering the prices. Overall, an outstandingly pleasant hotel we will use and recommend to others
