The hotel ideally suited my needs. The location was perfect, It was easily reached by public transport and was close to my destinations. It was very comfortable and served a fine breakfast.

The property is a beautiful old building which is impressive from the outside. However it is a little tired and worn and would benefit from a lick of paint and some crockery and cutlery that matches.

The hotel history, the building and the street it stands in are beautiful.
Parking is a limited and will hold around 6 or 7 cars.
The rooms are clean and tidy, tea and coffee making range of supplies and quantities are second to none. The maid service was good.
Breakfast was excellent and the bar in the evening offered good prices but limited range.
The desk isn't really staffed and there is no in room guidance for services fire escapes etc.
The hotel is looking tired but I believe is value for money and I would use it again.
Disgusting hotel. Took 20 minutes for the mm to answer the door, then got grunted at by a woman who was furious that she had guests to deal with. Really rude! Got to the bedroom and booked another hotel immediately. Within 5 minutes we had left the building due to the dirt in the bedroom, floaters in the toilet and a very shabby room. Massive brown stain on the mattress and doors were very thin. Absolutely vile place. Couldn’t breathe properly due to the dirt and dust. No extra cleaning due to covid obviously as the amount of dust proves it’s not been cleaned properly for years. Left the hotel itching and coughing. Wiped our feet on way out to protect the environment.
Good hotel for the price but the shower room is so small it was almost impossible to fit in and shower (the smallest sink ever). No mirror in the room. The bathroom had a very weird light sensor that basically made the light and the vent switch on and off at random (I had to have a shower in semi-darkness in the morning after it was on for the whole night!!). My party had two rooms and both had the same lights issue. The breakfast was alright.
Parking is at the rear and is difficult to find due to a one way system. Sat navs will confuse. Signage on the building could be better. Locate the parking on foot.
An old refurbished property. This was good value for money. Breakfast was excellent for a small hotel .Evening meals were also good with small Cosy dining room . Super Geordie friendliness. Convenient for me as I was working close by. Beds were a bit too soft for me , but that was really my only dislike.

Lovely location in Westoe village.
Lovely building so hoped for a nice stay.
Unfortunately didn't live up to expectations.
Room 15 was a let down.
Dirty carpet stains. Bathroom mirror light didn't work and door had dirty handprints on it. Shower door was off rails and handle on shower door broken. Dirt and fungus on outside of shower tray.
Bedside light didn't work.
We arrived 1 hr before we had to go to function so couldn't leave, which we would have done given more time.
Breakfast was ok except for the bacon which was dry and couldn't cut it.
Needless to say we won't be staying again.
Nice hotel, clean only too bad the TV was broken for a short stay is perfect

Wasn't very happy that we were kept for an hour waiting for a breakfast and I didn't get my coffee that I orderedand it made us late for the reason we went up a family christening. The extractor in the bathroom didn't work
Lovely hotel friendly welcome Park no available and not far from sea front only cost £3.50 in a UBBA taxi.

Close to work do
I needed a hotel close to a work do and this was practically next door plus was very reasonable at £40 which included breakfast. The room was small but comfortable and the bathroom was very small but worked. The breakfast was the best thing about the place as I have been to more expensive hotels in the past which were let down by the breakfasts.

Nice location in Westoe Village. Hotel very reasonably priced, rooms could do with a bit of an update. Quiet location, good breakfast. Handy for an overnight stay to attend a function in South Shields.
Very pleasant especially as we were upgraded to a junior suite. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Would go there again and would recommend the hotel to friends
Hotel was lovely very clean fantastic staff the only issue was last orders was 830 for food so by the time you finished your dinner you couldnt order and desert and also the bar closed then as well so was a early night.we stayed in the suite and it was absolutly gorgeous and spacious we also had dogs with us and were welcome.
Positives first.. Breakfast menu loads to choose from and extremely tasty. Busy morning but food worth the wait pleasantly delivered and nice cuppa too.
Not so good.... Paid for small dble room with breakfast. Sliding door to shower cupboard. ( yes cupboard) hanging off. No privacy for loo time noises etc a very noisy fan 😷 bed was like a futon with headboard and extra hard mattress you rolled onto the floor first to stand up.
To sum up...Hotel impressive from outside. Has private parking. Was busy. Handy for where we needed to be. Needs some tlc. Breakfast very nice. Premier Inn for same price..
We were given a twin room when we had booked a double and the room was in bad need of updating not worth 60.00 a night also we had to park in a street nearby when it clearly said there was free parking the heating didn't work very well either
Stayed here a few times, the staff have always been friendly, the hotel is clean, they serve a lovely breakfast and it is just a short stroll to the town center and beach front making it an ideal location.
