Nice hotel close to the centre of town

Posted 07-Dec-2017
Pros: Great service all round
Location: We went to the City Hall for Steeleye Span gig which was brilliant. Looks like a nice main street for shopping.
Had a lovely stay here. Our room had a super view of the town. All the staff were really helpful and welcoming.

Great price, great location

Posted 20-Nov-2017
We had two rooms. Queen room was great size. Bed comfortable. Great views of Newcastle Castle. Room service was good, large portion. Family room with bunkbeds was great for our family of 4. Lots of outlets to charge up for the day. Breakfast buffett in the hotel was hot and plentiful. Overall service was excellent. Easy walk from the train station even with a cane. Two things made it not perfect. Septic odor in our family room when we arrived. They sent someone up right away to clean the shower drain and spray air cleaner. It was fine in about 30 minutes. Bathroom is very small. Toilet and shower are one room. Not good for a family room.

Close to train station

Posted 04-Oct-2017
Pros: Closeness to train station
Cons: Evening meal, heating.
Location: Handy down town location.
Room was small but comfortable. Found it cool and extra heat took a long time to be felt. Breakfast was excellent, evening meal was poor. Clean room with stained towels.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in... Honestly

Posted 17-Sep-2017 on Hotels
I booked for 11 nights (9.9-20.9.17) and paid €912,74. On Saturday, 16.9.17, my son came to spend some time with my wife and myself at the lounge around 23:15. We were expecting sitting in the lounge when I received a phone call from my son who was outside of the hotel and prevented by a security man to enter!!!! My son tried to tell him that his parents were staying there and were expecting him. The security man, very rootly, refused to listen instead of asking the night manager if my son was telling the truth. Eventually and after a long discussion my son was "given permission" to visit us!!!! Nothing was written in the internet site regarding this and NOBODY told us that after 23:00 the doors were closed. Furthermore, during that night the hotel entrance was like a far west bar of the 50's. Young people were drunk, screaming, laughing and taking bottles of alcohol to their rooms while we were sitting there having a beer and trying to relax. The lift floor was so sticky from the alcohol you could not enter. Three policemen entrered the hotel and arrested a resident at 1:00 o'clock in the morning!!! On Wednesday night, 13.9.17, 2 residents were completely drunk and the night manager kept serving them tequilas!!!! When I tried to to enter the lift with my wife they tried to come with us but, fortunately, a hotel employee pulled them back and apologized to us. If I had not pay the full amount I would have left. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. They are HOPELESS!!!!

Good hotel in central Newcastle

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: Central location
Cons: Discounted car parking
Location: Very close to Newcastle train station and to plenty of bars and restaurants so ideal for a weekend in Newcastle
Stayed for one night to go out in Newcastle. Check in was easy and man on Reception was very helpful. Room was functional but with no frills - it was fine with us as we only wanted to use it to sleep and get ready.
