Over rated

The room was very small, the carpet had dirty marks, the furniture was badly scratched. The glass bathroom door was filthy and the floor became saturated every time we used the shower. The safe was difficult to use because it was on the floor which meant I had to kneel on the floor to see the digital combination. The windows were soaking wet every morning due to the condensation. Breakfast is served in the restaurant that is more like a night club and the main colour is black, not a bright start to the day. This is a budget hotel with four star prices. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they said would have given me a partial refund but the could not because I had booked with Expedia.

Great location.

Stayed in suite last year which was nice. The King Room we had this year was not so nice. Mold on the net curtains, a lot of traffic noise and a rainfall shower that was clogged up so sprayed at all angles but down flooding the bathroom. I would say they need to maintain the rooms to justify the high price of this hotel. Think we'll be heading to a Premier Inn next year.

Lovely hotel right in town centre

Posted 31-Aug-2017
Pros: Friendly staff, very modern with everything you need.
Cons: We came in to find our dishes and glasses were just being rinsed with water and no detergent. This could be improved.
Location: It is smack bang in the centre and there is so much to do in Newcastle. Outside the city are attractions like Alnwick Castle and Northumberlandia too.
We were greeted by friendly staff who asked us why we chose Newcastle. I explained that I had lived there for four years and that we were here on honeymoon. Free of charge, they upgraded us to a suite which really added to out honeymoon! It is a very modern hotel next to St James Park (football ground) and China Town and a three minute walk from the very centre of town. Fantastic. Thank you.

Great Location

Posted 29-Aug-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Air conditioning unit and lifts.
Location: Right next door to St James' Park, 5 mins to Grey St.
Great location for city centre and St James' Park. Rooms are a bit noisy. Air conditioning unit is really noisy. lifts are terribly slow and seems that only one was working. It was fine for 1 night. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Convenient for city centre

Posted 23-Aug-2017
This hotel lacks care and attention inall aspects. My room was tatty (cracked mirror, grubby paintwork). The hotel lacks a decent lobby area where it is comfortable to meet people. The bar is more like a sportbar/nightclub with bouncers which clearly caters for a cleintele that are not the hotel guests. Breakfast is ok, but in the same tired dingy nightclub bar, which does not look good in the morning.

Posted 17-Jul-2017
Pros: The location of the hotel is great. The bedroom ensuite bathroom is very modern. The kitchen is well furnished.
Cons: The cooling, heating system.
Location: Great location.close to city centre, shopping centre and loads of restaurants.
Bedroom was very small, no space to walk around the bed. The heating system was noisy and horrible to sleep with.

Business stay

Lovely staff and convenient location. Room could do with a refresh: TV didn't work and fridge not cool/cold. Bed very comfortable and excellent wifi. For what I paid for the room it was a very good option.
