Cannot miss the hotel - masses of glorious hanging baskets and greenery at the front. We were lucky to note a reviewer's comment to arrive after 4 pm (one tends to glaze over booking sites' details).
We parked our car on the hotel's private forecourt. The hotel was very clean and fresh. Bedroom very comfortable with good windows which one could open if more fresh air was required. Tea/coffee making facilities in room and if required, Liz will happily let you have a jug of milk. Shower was good with good water pressure.
Plenty of restaurants within strolling distance AND do ask Liz for recommendations - she is good!! Metro stations within walking distance and a most convenient bus stop just up the road from hotel for regular buses to Newcastle.
If you feel a bit greedy with the breakfast cereals, variety of dried fruits, fresh fruits, home made compote and two varieties of home made marmalade (highly recommended) not to mention yoghurt, rack of toasts and butter, tea/coffee - just remember the marvelous cooked breakfast is yet to come and it is massive!
We stayed two very comfortable nights and will definitely be back.
