Good, friendly hotel

As always the room was clean, the bathroom was excellent and the staff were very welcoming.

Lovely balcony view after upgrade

Interesting experience of a hotel that seems very quite over the weekend although plenty of rooms taken. Bar closed when we returned shortly past 9:00 pm. Bathroom shower partition very inefficient and floor became very wet after a shower. The whole building felt as though it had seen better days and could do with a little refurbishment

Comfortable place to overnight.

This is a comfortable and easy to get to motel. It's a shame they have never been able to get the stale damp odour out of the corridors. The rooms are fine. The restaurant on the premises is great and the breakfast special offer was excellent value.

A old hotel getting very tired

Pros: Bed OK but very overpriced for the offering
Cons: See listed. Place needs a good spruce up and a change of manager. We will not invest in your hotel stays if you can't provide a nice clean modern hote
Location: I would not have a clue. I am a bike rider and staff had not a clue as to the cycle paths.
1. dangerous road access to the hotel. 2. public areas such as access from car-park to hotel shabby boarding on dirty and unkempt. 3. no fresh air in the corridors to rooms as a result smells musty. 4. bed was good, but carpets looked as though they needed a good steam clean and vacuum. 5.bathroom also very tired for a 4 star hotel 6. no provision for secure bike lock-up. I have a $6,000 mountain bike and I had to struggle up the stairs. 7. no porterage 8.Generally I felt the hotel was desperate to make money at the expense of the clients comfort 9. Perhaps a weekly QA check should be carried out to make sure cleaning staff are cleaning and reporting breakages etc.. (I had to point out to the male receptionist that a draw was broken (not by me). The meals were ok but nothing special - it is as though there is no pride in the place. .

Simple, clean and comfortable

My room was clean, comfortable and simple. There wasn't excess brochures or mini-bar stock filling space. I like that you are able to elect not to have your sheets changed everyday. The room was serviced everyday. I was visiting family and didn't use the facilities at the hotel.

Comfortable - not far from the beach and Newcastle

Pros: The food was very good, the bed very comfortable.
Cons: The waitress at dinner needs to keep her voice down upon entering the kitchen if she's going to comment on the order sarcastically.
Overall very positive. The attitude of one of the wait staff could be improve four a four and half star hotel.
