Convenient for where we needed to be

Pros: Easy to find and central for our visiting needs
Visiting Newcastle in extreme heat, it was nice to be able to get into our air conditioned room at a time prior to our engagement in Newcastle to rest out of the heat

Badly kept

In a bad spot under a phone tower, unkept and smells of mold. Pool is old and tiles falling off, badly presented staff with grounds people hanging in foyer, breakfast and halls. Won't choose this chain again??

Pros: Convinient location.
Late check in. Staff were accomodating. Wifi was poor in room.

Loved the place

I will be definitely staying again next visit to Newcastle. The whole place was amazing from the rooms, the view to the pool n spa to breakfast. Loved the place

Noise

Close to highway but quite. Plenty of car space. Staff all look happy and they work well together.

Close to shopping centres and hospital nice hotel

Dirty and uncomfortable

Cons: Cleanliness, air conditioning
I've stayed at various Mercures around Australia before and always found them extremely comfortable, almost luxurious for the price. This experience was quite different. The room wasn't cleaned properly, there was dirt on the bed and I dried myself with a towel covered in someone else's hair. The air conditioning was also broken in the room so we had a very hot, uncomfortable night. There are no ceiling fans. The staff were reasonably pleasant, and the hotel does offer some basic facilities. I found the breakfast to be at a lower standard than other Mercures that I have visited previously, the food was quite bland, although it is cheap if you are staying at the hotel. I would not stay there again, however it wasn't the worst hotel I've ever been to in my life.

A quiet and cosy stay

Pros: Quiet ambience and cosy atmosphere. Stayed overnight for a weekend away from the city. My son and I enjoyed just playing in the pool
Cons: The pool area didn't have showers. There is no bad impressions of this place since it was just a very brief stay

Small room, balcony over car park and driveway unpleasant. Could hear a lot of highway traffic noise.

Disappointing

Unfortunately our mattress was very uncomfortable. The air conditioning wasnt working properly. The laundry truck woke us up at 7.00am Saturday morning.
