The young gentleman on the desk on the evening we arrived late was able to assist us by finding us a nearby room at another establishment, when our booking from Expedia, did not process through to the Ibis system. Very impressed with his service as he was able to manage us, whilst helping others as well. Thank you

Outside of the hotel looked okay but the rooms were a bit basic and tired. The portaloo style of the bathroom was off putting. $25 for on site parking seemed a little excessive too.

The hotel is conveniently situated to Newcastle CBD and the waterside precinct. Our room didn't have bath towels or pillow cases, so the manager quickly relocated us to another room. The only complaint we had with that room was that the shower soap dispenser was empty. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Clear lack of maintenance starting at the reception with a leaking roof air con system that already had mold showing up around it. That is in front of the reception counter where guests check-in into the property. Room cleanliness could be better with a good centimeter worth of dust inside the bed side lights and bedhead, and lots of dust in the bathroom roof exhaust fan which makes it harder for the fan to work properly. Location is pretty good within walking distance to key places of interest. Not having access to an undercover car park on site was a setback considering latest whether events including hailstones. There is also no covered pathway between car park and reception, meaning if it rains, you will get wet getting your luggage out of the car. I would try to find another place to stay in case I visit Newcastle again.

Great location- would recommend Ibis
Hotel full of concert goers. Ibis formula of providing all you need - comfy bed, good shower and no frills. Just good value. Breakfast was good and parking at $15 per day less than local price. A suggestion to get additional lighting (a standard lamp would do) would be desirable. Excellent location. Would stay again.

The Ibis Newcastle is a nice hotel and while not in easy walking distance of eateries , it is located near to the light rail. The breakfast at the hotel was very good. It is in close proximity to the Family Hotel , a nice pub with good meals.
